Citizenship Application separation

Hello
I have sent our application for Citizenship on Aug 2009 and we still wating for the test.
Now I would like to separate my wife citizenship application from my application(main applicant) becuse I have some problems in my PR Card renewal application(sent last September )and it is under investigation for residency obligation and my PR card renwal processing on hold untill I complete the requested documents.
Please I need your advice and help, so my family citizenship process will continue.

Call CIC @ 1-888-242-2100 and speak to a citizenship service agent.

If you have the fax number of the citizenship local office, send them a fax requesting applications to be processed separately.

Befor I go for this step I want to know if the separation is an available option and possible?
