Citizenship Application - Returned Twice

Hello,

I sent my application including my family for the citizenship. However, the application was returned twice for the same reason even though I believe we provided the required documents as per instruction guide. Now, I am not able to understand what more does CIC need to accept my application.

The reason for application to be returned in both instances was "photocopies of school records of dependent children for the 4 year period immediately preceding the application"

We landed in Canada in Oct 2008 and returned back to our home country after that. The we finally came to Canada in June 2010 to live here permanently.

I have 2 children 7 and 2 years of age. My 2 year old child was born in Canada and hasn't started going to school yet. My elder child started going to school only after coming to Canada and I provided the school records in both instances. However, the school records cover 3.5 years due to the fact we started living in Canada only about 3.5 years ago and my child has been going to school since then.

I have explained this in my cover letter but they still sent my application back giving the same reason.

Can anyone expert in this help in this matter? I am looking for the suggestion on what you think CIC may be looking for so that I can send the application back.

Thanks,
Inder

what about before you came to Canada. Do you have any documents stating that your kid went to daycare or something like that in your country?
From what I see on your post, it looks like you missed the 60 months before coming to Canada. Unless you kid stayed home for almost 4 years without going to daycare. Otherwise, you will need to provide evident when he/she was outside of Canada.

My application was also retured because of same reason. My mistake was not to attach yearly report card only attached letter from school.
I sent yearly report cards and a letter explaining that my kid never attened school anywhere before that.
And application was accepted.

Hi guys... did you attach all report card since your child start going to school??? it should be 3 report card per year. when they sent my app back I had some missing reports so I went to school and asked all of them and then I typed a detailed cover letter writing dates of report card in brackets (MAKING EASIER FOR CIC SYDNEY) to understand what I am sending.

My kid was born in 2006 and stayed at home till we came back to Canada in 2010. No school records from outside Canada.

What I am getting by reading other responses is that I perhaps needs to obtain yearly school records and resubmit the application.

I had the same problem with my application. I called CIC call center and they told me that I need to submit "Transcripts" . So I suggest you to go and ask your children's school for their transcripts.
Good luck,

If the 4 years period before the application spans before the landing date, do we still need to provide the report card for the school back home?

Technically you don't need to provide the documents out of four years. But the gentleman at CIC call center told me "You know what sir,?" I told :"What", He said "The more is better !!!!!"

Inder,
Was your issue resolved? If so, what did you do to resolve it? Can you please respond asap?
I got it back twice for the same reason and now based on suggetion from someone in this thread, I am planning to send yearly reports.
Just want to know what happened in your case and what did you do, before resending it.
