Hi Everyone
I posted my questions before but I got zero answers So I would like to post again. I hope this time I might get some answers.
So my history is a little hectic. I sent my application last year before June 13 (before the law changes), but they sent back my application as "incomplete" since I didn't include my previous passport's bibliographical pages. But I had to wait 1 more year to qualify under the new rules. After waiting for another year, finally I sent my application on June 25th, and it was delivered 29th. This time I sent every single page of my both passports to avoid any such thing happened previously. Unfortunately it was sent back again stating that :
"The passport(s) or travel document(s) provided do not cover the entire 6 year period preceding the date of your application, or since you became a Permanent Resident, whichever is more recent. You also have not provided an explanation of any gaps in passport validity or why the required document(s) is not in your possession."
The 2 of the passports have a renewal-expire time gap. My old passport expired on 11 May 2012 and the new passport was registered on 12 July 2013. Then I traveled to Turkey on 13 August 2013, so I had to renew my passport (which was on 12 July 2013). Therefore I wrote and signed on paper stating below:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I applied for Canadian Citizenship, however my application was sent back due to a missing “explanation of any gaps in passport validity”. I would like to present this letter of explanation for the gap between the dates.
As I stated in Section 6-E and Section 6-F and in Physical Presence Calculator document, I did not travel outside of Canada between 8 October 2011 to 12 August 2013. Therefore I did not renew my passport after 11 May 2012 until 4 July 2013. I renewed my passport on 4 July 2013 since I wanted to visit my family and take vacation in Turkey in 11 August 2013.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this matter.
Is this the correct way of explaining? Would this letter of explanation be accepted by the officers?
The application was sent back to me on 15 July, and quickly I responded and sent back to CIC. It will be delivered on Monday 25 July. I printed out all the forms (presence calculator, application form) with new date and signed. I hope it wouldn't delay drastically. I dated all my application up to date and signed again and sent. I was going to send the old stamped one which got sent back to me, but folks in the forum posted before not to do that way, so I avoided.
One last question... In the application form, there is a section for tax. It was asking "required to fill" yes or no. In 2010, I was international student, but not permanent resident. However I filed my taxes since I added education cost for credit in my taxes. Therefore I checked "YES" if I'm required to fill 2010. Is this correct? And I still didn't file 2013 tax. Is this a problem?
Thank you all for reading my post!
