While I am not sure about the previously offered explanation for why, it is correct that some local offices are slower than others. I am not sure it is correct that the Mississauga office is slower than most. Historically, timelines for local offices have varied relative to one another. The only one I have noticed to be slower than most, more often, is Montreal. Mississauga has been, at times, among the faster-known offices and, at other times, among the slowest (the latter particularly during the peak of the fraud crack-down, the epicenter of which was in Mississauga itself).

While all applications are sent to Sydney, yes "to start with," the actual processing of the application is done in the local office. And timelines from one office to another vary.

The CPC in Sydney receives the application, screens it for completeness, loads the application formally into GCMS (thus putting the application into process), and initiates the referrals for background checks from RCMP and CSIS (those clearances to be sent to local office). It is also likely (although IRCC does not reveal much at all about this stage of internal processing) that triage screening for risk indicators is also done in Sydney before the application is transferred to the local office (this used to for sure be a step done in Sydney, but we have seen little indication of pre-test RQs coming out of Sydney in the last year so it is not certain that is still done in Sydney).

In any event, it is the local office which processes the application, reviews and assesses the applicant and the application, schedules the test and interview, and conducts any non-routine process triggered along the way. Scheduling for and administration of the oath also takes place in the local office.
Well explained

My application is a family of 5 and number of days are 1490

Hope it helps

Hello

I am planning to send application to CPC in august end.

Little confused on Income Tax year. I am eligible based on 4 years rules. But I can not provide 2017 income tax proof as it will be filed in march 2018.

If i am not making mistake in understanding than CIC need proof of tax file in last 6 years.

I already filed income tax since 2011. Only thing that in 2011 i stayed for 45 days and went back and came back in 2013-aug.

So 2017 tax return should not be a problem . Am i correct on it ?

Please update me on it.

ok so here is my situation ,, I withdraw voluntarily my application that it was submitted back in December 2016 ,, and the reason cuz I arrived late for my citizenship test ,,, and the consequences for that they slept on my file for good 5 months without any sing for test reschedule ,, obviously my application was going to non-routine queue ,, after talking to immigration lawyer he advised me to withdraw than reapply ,, that would be the easiest , the fastest and the cheapest solution.
And since in my previous application they asked a fingerprint ,, I already redid it and now I am waiting the FP result to come home to include it in my new application ,, this time I got the lesson , I will never be late one more time

Also I come from Edmonton, and been here for 1490 days.

If you are applying now, the tax return you filed in 2017 is for tax year 2016 which is relevant. If you have filed returns in last 4 years, you are good. They will automatically get data from cra.

I am from Edmonton. Applied on August 09.

Regards

On August 09, a lot of people who Applied in July got AOR. That's exciting!
