The situation is even complicated than that. Applicant is Deaf, a single parent with a 6 years old child who is also Deaf. She is separated from her Husband since 2012. (The family originally came to Canada as Syrian Refugee in 2011. The family's Passport / traveling document was issued by Gov. of Iraq. The biographical pages are in Arabic. Her Son doesn't have a Passport as his Identification information is stamped on her Passport)

She send Citizenship Application for herself and minor child however the Applications were returned due to incomplete/ missing information. The Letter from CIC states that CIC will not charge her the fees.

She had someone help her filling out the Forms. Their were some basic mistakes in the application such as on the 1st page of the application, there was no check mark that she will need special accommodation (Q1B), then she didn't fill out anything for Q6F - she was unemployed the whole time, she didn't fill out Q6G - as the child is 6 yrs. of age and goes to School for Deaf Children, she didn't fill out Q7B to show that as Deaf she can't provide proof of language.

In order to properly guide her in completing her application as well as her son's, can anyone advise me on the following:

1) Will a Letter from Canadian Association of the Deaf stating she is Deaf fulfill the requirement that she can't submit language evidence?

2) Does she need to complete Q 6G even though a separate application is being send for her son's Citizenship application? Her son is attending School for Deaf Children - what education records will she need to provide in this regard?

3) Does she needs to provide any document regarding her current separation status with her ex-husband?

4) For the Child, when completing Application for Canadian Citizenship - Minor (Form CIT 0003), for Q 8 - Does both she and her ex-husband ( i.e., both parents) needs to provide information OR only her information is enough? I don't think she is in good terms with her ex-husband.

I have already spent hours trying to find the right answers for the above. Any one's help here will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Firstly
Thank you for your kind heart
I hope i can help
for the first question i think a signed letter from her doctor associated with the Canadian association of deaf will help

regarding school report
she can ask for the school record from the school which her son is attendeing
it will be clear it is a school for deaf and she ask them also for a signed letter indicating the status of her son

For father
I think they need just information like his name ,birth date, nationality so she can add just the information
there is a question about the current status
she can say sepaarated

( this a fast answer I will try to help more by night
thanks)

Thank you very much for your answers.

I was wondering, does both parents signature is required when completing application for a minor (6 yrs. old) in application CIT 0003 OR only one parent who is also applying for Citizenship will be enough?

If you are deaf, and can provide one of the upfront proofs of language ability for citizenship (described in 1 to 3 above), please do so. If you are not able to provide such evidence, you must provide other supporting documents to assist decision makers in understanding the basis of your claim. The accepted supporting evidence is an audiogram issued by a Canadian audiologist, with a letter issued by the same audiologist attesting that you are deaf and have severe to profound hearing loss, with little or no residual hearing, including an explanation as to whether and to what extent this impacts your ability to listen and/or speak. Please note that we will not process your application and will return the entire application to you if your audiogram and the letter issued by the same audiologist are not included.

You may also want to call the CIC call centre, the agents there can be quite helpful.
