Hello,

I am living in Fort McMurray-Alberta. I applied for Canadian Citizenship in August 2008(almost 10 months before). I got the acknowledgement letter and the Citizenship test preparation booklet from Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Can anyone answer that how many times a year the citizenship test is conducted in Fort McMurray and in what months of the year. Any idea when I can get the letter to appear for Citizenship test. Looking forwrad your reply. Thanks

Pre-Assessed..
Find the CIC office in Fort McMurray and ask them. If you can't find one, ask Service Canada. I did my citizenship in Edmonton and it varies how long it takes to process your file. For some reason, mine took like 2.5 years. Everybody I met at the citizenship ceremony had done it in around a year. When they let you know to appear for the test, you will probably have around 2 weeks notice. Same with the oath ceremony. There is a practice test at http://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/ Pick all questions and go through them until you know them all. The most important are citizen rights and responsibilities and the voting system.

Thanks Leon for your reply. I do not think there is any functional CIC office in Fort McMurray. That is why for Fort McMurray residents the Citizenship test is arranged couple of times every year. But I will try to find again. I will alos call Service Canada in working hours.

The closest CIC is Edmonton. They do itinerant service to other cities in Northern Alberta for testing and ceremonies.
