Is there anyone else that sent out their CIT 0520 documents to immigration that has yet to get any type of response news or update? (Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto)

There has to be someone. There are many thousands of immigrants from all over the world being processed for Canadian citizenship right now.

I sent back CIT 0520 on December 24th and have not heard back anything yet. My office is Vancouver and I was 22 days short( self-declared). Keep us posted if you heard back, which office is yours?

@ hvakili

They physically received mine via Canada Post priority mail on December 18th, 2015.

I'm being processed by the Montreal Office, CIC Eastern Region. Hope we hear something soon for all of us. I had 1,150 days, more than enough under the old 3/4 year rules. They just felt like giving me a CIT 0520 randomly. There isn't any exact logic when they decide to hand them out like candy to so many different applicant situations.

Hi
What caused that request...

Does any of these applies to you?

1.Any visits in USA made by crossing the land border
2.Any visa valid or expired to USA
3.Stamps in your passport which are not in English or French
4.Gaps in your travel documents or currently expired last passport.
5.Expired previous PR card
6.Living very long time at the same address.
7.Usage of a Travel Document other than a Passport or PR card
8. Any absence more than 6 months
9. Being married and then divorsed

The only thing applies to me from that list is #9. I was married and divorced, sponsored in the past. The citizenship officer at the interview was very rude towards me, with terrible energy, probably because I'm a man, and/or simply because it's their job to be horrible towards people at random to test us or something. They were much nicer and welcoming overall to the women being interviewed, probably because they'll make babies for Canada. Men are treated more poorly statistically in those interviews. I've asked many people up after the interviews.

Recently a woman in similar to your situation also ended up with request for more documents.
I think that their concern in these situations is the fight against the fake and arranged marriages with the idea only to get papers.

But I've heard that statement before too, that the men are likely to be treated poorly by some of the agents.

It's terrible they treat us like this. I just hope it's only because they want to perform "due diligence" and so forth. I feel bad for that woman you speak of, it's ridiculous. Anyways, this is strictly a proof of residency, nothing more. All they are focused on at this stage are the documents they requested from all of us. They'll give anyone a CIT 0520 form at this point, even for sneezing the wrong way in public. The USA immigration process isn't even this pathetic. Canadians can freely immigrate like nothing into the USA, without the same drama the Canadian government throws at us here.

By reading some of the details from your interview you just PM to me I see similarities in these cases because usually the focus is towards the marriage issue.
I think their biggest concern in these cases is focused predominantly on the actual PR process in a sense weather the marriage was genuine or with the only intention to get the PR papers.

During the process of Citizenship they make a profound review of the profile of the applicant much detailed compared to the PR process itself.
Once a case seems to them a little aside from the main track they start to dig in more and more.

I don't understand what they are trying to understand exactly. They didn't ask for anything whatsoever about the marriage in the CIT 0520 request form. They only requested Passport color copies, taxes, records of employment, lease/mortgage/living arrangement documents, and health records. How does that have anything to do with questioning the genuineness of a previous marriage or not? Again, I'm not confused on your statement. Can you explain this with evidence? Maybe I'll understand this better. I wonder what happened to the woman you mentioned in my same situation. What was her outcome or current progress?

In any case, CIC does not process the documents so fast. They take their own sweet time.

Wish you all the best.

They take their time on all cases, regardless of how they got to Canada. I don't think anything matters to them, but only the actual documents to show residency support.

I think that in these cases with the marriage issue the real concern is not with your residency, they just divert the attention by issuing the residency form but the goal is that they need more time to dig into the marriage issue and how details around the PR grand processing.
The woman in similar to your situation still waiting for outcome.

Meanwhile you can check the reverse story again with marriage concerns by the user Memo1967. She is saying that she is still married but her officer seems concerned about that fact.
Again marriage related issue.

I am generally observing such cases with requests for more documents and I see a well established pattern they follow especially from last year when most likely their internal operational bulletins have been modified and now we see them in action.

I don't understand how they are trying to figure out all of our marriage cases. We fall in love with someone, we all got married to the person. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Case closed. It really sounds like an excuse for them to deliberately delay the Citizenship process. What do they want from us, pictures of us making love to our previous relationships? Video tapes of all of us saying "I love you my dear sweet partner in life"? Sorry, had to make a bad joke from this nonsense. Who are they to deem whether or not our past relationships were genuine or not? Again, none of this makes any sense. I feel bad for the woman, especially since she's still married.

The way they see it is most probably like this...
They fall in love, the love one gets his PR and shortly after they got divorced. Hmmm something is going on here...

Don't forget that the personal interpretation of some of their internal policies and rules is also very subjective matter. For that reason you can see two absolutely same applications ending up in a completely different directions.
There is no way to predict how a certain stranger bureaucrat will read some facts from an application. The luck factor is also in big play here.
