Hello,
I am a Canadian. My daughter was born outside of Canada after I was naturalized.
I am filling application form CIT 0001. I am not sure which among the following options must be checked on page 1 of the form.
Do any of these apply to you?
1. I want to pass down my Canadian citizenship to my child born outside Canada AND I was born in Canada or naturalized in Canada before my child was born; I didn’t adopt my child.
2. I never had a citizenship certificate and I was born outside Canada to a Canadian parent who was born in Canada or naturalized in Canada before I was born; I wasn’t adopted by my Canadian parent.
Option 1 would be to answer as a Parent
Option 2 is to answer as an applicant (on behalf of my minor child).
Please suggest which is correct.
Thanks,
SSA.
