CIO-Sydney received the application weeks ago, but still no reply from them. Why

How long do we need to wait after confirming that CIO Sydney Nova Scotia has received the application? They received it two weeks ago, but still we have not received any feedback from them, whether via email or regular mail.

Please share your experiences in the waiting times, and is there any possible error in the application sent?

Also, will CIO let us know whether the application is accepted or denied, and how will they do this? Is the application affected by the changes in the guidelines we keep reading everywhere?

CIO will notify you only after they check your application against the Ministerial Instructions. They will send you an email if you specified your email address in your application; otherwise you will receive a letter which tells you what to do next. The letter can advise you to send a full application to your Visa office or it can tell you why CIO thinks that your application doesn’t meet the Ministerial Instructions.
People on this forum call this letter the “1st AOR”. I don’t know why. CIO won’t send you any Acknowledgement Of Receipt…

CIO takes about 8 weeks time, you just passed 2 weeks, wait till that time and in the meanwhile gather all the documents.

And since we indicated our email address in the application form, will they communicate through email, regular mail, or both? What kind of response can we expect from CIO, and will we receive this on the 8th week, or even later?

We are now almost one month since CIO received the application, as confirmed by Canadapost tracking system. It feels very anxious not knowing what is happening to the application now.

Any other advice anybody care to share?

usually 8-10 weeks. However, it depend case to case.
please do not be so frastrated so early. please read carefully the IM7 and in the meantime collect all the papers for submitting in VO.
Before applying you certainly know whether you are qualified or not in general. However sometime unfortunately some of the application are return back due to incompleteness or some other reason.

Most Probably you will get e-mail, make sure you check ur Junk or spam folder for the e-mail

Wait and relax till next 5-6 weeks
