Hi guys,

I started this thread to track the info regarding the eligibility verification done by CIO. I request all the 2013 applicants who requested GCMS to please share this info. So far, there are two applicants (2013) who got MR and in those cases, eligibility was passed by CIO and not by CPP Ottawa. This will help us to get better idea of the process. Thanks

What would you like to know? I'm a June 2013 applicant, but my first application back in February was processed and rejected by CPC-Syndey.

Rejected based on eligibility?

E-CAS status had changed to "in process" a week after receiving AOR, so yes. ;)

given the weird goings on, re: faster processing of SOME files, this is a good idea. We would be able to at least see if eligibility is being assessed immediately for all files at CIO sydney, or if it is just a pilot project, with a few files being fully processed at Sydney. I ordered my notes a week after receiving my AOR just to test the waters. I should receive them in around 2 weeks. will let you know when i do.

Yeah, at least we can track that who is passing the eligilibity, the CIO or the CPP-O?! I will order my GCMS notes next week. Also, this situation does not apply for pre-2013 applicants because in those cases we know eligibility is done by CPP-O only.

Sorry for rejection, but dont you think this is weird. You got AOR from Sydney and they told you that your file would be moved to Ottawa for further processing, but they kept the file and after a week of in-process, they sent you the rejection!!!! I also know one person on this forum who applied in April ang got AOR in May. He recently got rejection and his online status was 'Application Received' only. I think either Sydney people make some mistakes and send AOR, but after rechecking by higher authorities (before sending the files to ottawa), they send the rejection. Also, possible that Sydney is processing the eligibility criteris of the applicants. Lets wait for more solid responses here :D

what was the reason for that persons rejection?

He was April 2013 applicant, got his AOR on 31st May and he got rejection on June 12th. His quotes were:

"Hi Guys,

Bad news for me.. My Application is rejected today as my English Test Score is not as per required. It says...

Your CELPIP test results indicate you scored 3H for Writing. Therefore, your language test results do not meet the required language proficiency for skill level 0.

Can I re-appear and submit the new score for same application or I have to re-apply with new application? Also if it is rejected from VISA office , Do I need to pay the fee again?"

To be clear: -

As per OP25A, Sydney do a completeness check on your app. If it is complete, you get an AOR. If the application is not complete, it is returned. If the app is complete, you receive an AOR.

As well as this, it's clear that they are doing some form of eligibility check at sydney (for some or for all apps) with some apps going to "in-process". This is why we are seeing apps being rejected by Sydney/CIO after they have checked eligibility.

It's actually a really good thing for all new apps. If you look back to last year, some July-Oct apps are only now receiving rejections! This isn't to say that rejections wont come down the line after things have been reviewed by Ottawa... But it definitely helps out the bulk of applicants.

Oh alright! I know this has been asked before, but why did you get rejected?

Also, I ordered GMCS notes too, so I'll let you guys know soon what they say on my file (2013 applicant - not in process)...

CEC2013,

If I remember correctly, whymeee was rejected because he had some part time hours and it wasn't totaling to one-year equivalent of full time experience (please correct me if I am wrong). So he definitely had his eligibility assessed. In fact, he was the first one on the forum that we heard from who got an early review as part of the new process / pilot thing.

My application status is "app received" and has not changed to In Process. I requested GCMS notes on May 15, so I'm hoping I get them this week. I can't be sure whether eligibility has or has not been assessed. All we know for now is that those applications that are In Process have probably had eligibility assessed. For the others (which happens to be the majority), we'll just have to wait for the GCMS notes.

@ spookyb

Thanks! Ok, I remember now... So, we are both pretty much the same. My app is also just "received", but I did order GCMS recently and am hoping it will give me some kind of idea, but based on comments before ... I've got a better shot at guessing where they stand on it myself, than actually getting anything useful out of the notes. But here's to hoping!! :D
