Hi,

I see that the CIC Processing times havent been updated for some time.
Last updated was NOV 21 2014.

I am not able to speak to the callcenter too.
It says more the avg call volume, so we cannot connect at this moment.

I applied for my WP extension with the same employer on NOV 19 and there isnt any way to track.

My WP is expiring on 14th JAN And I am really worried :(

Can some of the seniors throw some light on this?

Has the processing time increased?

I have called CIC today and was able to reach them. Try calling them during the early hours, like 8:30 to 9AM. Usually the waiting time during that period is 15 mins which is not too bad

Thanks a lot Prashantbv - I will try it tomorrow.

But anyone who has got the WP extension in the past week?

My WP went for extension in Oct. Have not heard from CPC yet.
Is yours an ICT or LMO WP?

Mine just ICT (LMO Exempt), sent to Alberta processing center.

It was a online application.

They used to update the processing times for temporary resident documents every Monday with information from the Friday 10 days before. So there should have been an update with a reference date ("Last updated on:") of November 28 showing up online. However, this did not happen.
While technology should allow them to be able to update the processing times daily by automatically tracking the case status, there may be other technical issues, e.g. misconfigured internal cache.
But that's not the only issues I noticed while tracking the processing times for the last few months. For example, between the reference dates October 31 and November 7, the processing times did not move forward at all; on both of these dates they were working on October 11, as if they did not work at all for a week.
In addition, for online submissions, processing times have went up from 2 weeks to 30 days for work permits in about a month; study permits and visitors extensions are similar. Who knows what they really are right now.

I've been on the same boat twice and as long as there is no problem with your application, even though you haven't received your WP before Jan 14, that's ok. You can still work cause you are on implied status :)

Does anyone have an idea as to what is happening with CIC? I applied for TRV with valid work permit last November and I haven't heard back. It was only supposed to take 14 days to process my documents after they received it. I already called twice last week (with different questions at hand), and they told me to email the Ottawa office. It says on their site to contact them if there's a need for urgent processing so I did. But when I got an automated reply from the email I sent, they said they don't reply to urgent processing requests.. I'm supposed to fly out this Thursday but I don't have my visa and my passport yet. :(
