They gave me 60 days. What we did is that I applied the 1st business day after the invite. I scanned the fingerprint cards and the reciept of the post office. I also applied for PCC from the state. (My husband also applied for FBI check through channeller, but he was in the states at the time. If you are not inside the US, I believe you can't. I am not sure though. However this one is not that important. The most important one is the scans.) Then I wrote a short explanation letter and mentioned that I did not know that FBI check would take so long and I applied as soon as I found out. But it takes 3 to 4 months. I waited as much as possible and then submitted my application. Please give me some time and I will upload it as soon as possible.

After that I waited until the 58th day and uploaded all these materials. In addition, I uploaded the explanation letter in both slots for pcc and explanation letter. As you can see in my signature they gave me 60 days and I submitted it a few days after they requested for it.
Follow this. They give you time.
If you want I can send you my explanation letter as well. It was very short and concise.
I was in the same situation...I had ITA on 18.12, submitted application for Qatar PCC on 27.12 and submitted PR application on 5.1....In the LoE, I provided explanation that I have attached a proof of PCC and will provide it asap. I also explained that this is the best I can do as I my PCC application has been turned in within 9 days of ITA. They then gave me 60 days from 13.1....Since I have submitted PPC on 2.2.16, so I hope I am ok with it? The retrospective application means any applications with pending PCC may face issues (not sure if it applies to cases where CIC has already asked for PCC document).

Apparently, looks like there is a spike in PR applications with pending PCC. CIC intends to deter this practice, hence cautious in providing exceptional route saying "•an explanation of best efforts (not a guarantee of acceptance). The applicant should explain the delay in a document and upload the document. The uploaded document must show that the applicant requested a police certificate as soon as possible after receiving their Invitation to Apply."

Just take note of "not a guarantee of acceptance", which shows CIC is going to be difficult.

Good luck everyone

Ideally CIC should not directly reject applications where retroactive effect is applied.
But yeah, You never know what CIC can do..

I will! There is no harm in being proactive in that matter.

Shibaak, I did the same as you. This is my timeline:

ITA- 18th Dec
eAPR submission and AOR- 15th Feb
Meds passed - 16th Feb
Additional doc request- 17th Feb
DEadline - 17th April 2016

Now, I doubt if I would get the FBI report within 17th April, so I would like to request for 2nd extension. Does CIC give a 2nd extension of 60 days to everyone? According to stats on this forum, I expect to receive my FBI report by 1st week of May. Please share your LOE if you can. Thanks a ton!

Hello All,

I will be applying for Canadian Immigration in few weeks from now. However, I came across the fact on CIC website that I have to submit a police clearance report for myself for all the territories or countries, where I lived for more than 6 months, after attaining the age of 18. Since I have lived in multiple states in India due to studies and then work after turning 18, do I need to submit Police Clearance report from all those states?

I would appreciate if someone can throw some light on it.

Regards,

Rahul

PCC are not for states (in India) or for provinces...they are country wise.

So for India you just need one PCC from PSK that'll cover your stay there from 18yrs onwards.

I am in almost the same dilemma, I got my ITA on the 4th of December, submitted my application on the 29th and got a request for Netherlands PCC on the 4th of January. I have till 4th of March to upload the document. However, I am yet to receive the PCC till date. I learnt it was sent since 16th of January via regular mail which cannot be tracked and which takes a while.

I have sent a CSE to CIC on the 18th of February for an extension but I am yet to see any change in mycic account. I intend uploading proofs that I have applied for the documents and the correspondence I received that it has been sent since 16th January with an explanation letter by the 58th day if I do not get the document. Is this adviseable? Does anyone have any other idea of how to go about this issue?

Thank you.

Would you please let me know if you have stayed in Netherlands for more than 6 months in a row or for a total of 6 months?

I want to know if CIC is asking for PCCs from applicants who have submitted their apps in January but stayed in other country for a total of 6 months but not in a row.
