Thanks for posting this!
I have a problem with my work permit, which they issued under a wrong name! I called CIC and explained, the agent confirmed it was a mistake on their side, but only told me to mail a request to amend a document... which I am now scared to do, seen as how Canada Post can lose it or not deliver it on time, and the package would contain original documents.. And now this! So CIC will just NOT mail anything... does that mean I can mail them the request to amend the document and they're not going to process it until the strike threat is over? does anyone know if it's possible to send stuff by courier for the same mailing address or does CIC only allow it if they explicitly give a courier address?
I'm scared, because now it looks as follows - my extended work permit has been approved and is valid until Sept 2017, except it's in my old name, not my new name (I changed it), whereas the old permit I had is valid until Sept 2016.... I have no idea what happens if this whole amend a document procedure lasts longer than the validity of my old permit, until Sep 2016
Does anyone have any idea if, seen as how the application was approved and my stay in Canada thus extended, and the document has one mistake in it which means I have to return it to them and wait until they send me a correct one, that counts as 'implied status' or anything like that? I don't want to leave, I have a job and a spouse here, we want to apply for PR for me soon and this whole Canada Post thing really is badly timed for me :/
Also, for PR applications we can just use a courier, correct? Which means that applications sent like that will not be delayed, apart from COPR mailing (which for us is still months away seen as how we didn't apply yet
)?
