Hi all,

I received the medical & passport request from my visa office (CIC Tokyo).

But I have these questions:

1) The medical instructions say that the results of the examinations should be sent to Manila. Is this correct?
I mean, my visa office is Tokyo, so why send the medicals to Manila Philippines and not to Japan?

2) Did someone else applying from Japan get the medical request? Where did you have them sent to?

3) Btw, I heard that depending on the category (SW, Family class, etc) and where you've applied to, your visa office and place to send the medicals might be different. Is this true?

Thanks for reading, and will look forward to getting answers.

Hi
1. A friend of mine has also received medical request from Tokyo Office. In her letter, it does not say the results should be sent to Manilla. But I beileve they should go to Manilla as the regional Medical center is in Manilla not in Tokyo.
2. She has not done the medical yet.
3. I do not think so.

1. Because there is no Regional Medical Centre in Japan, for Tokyo it is in Manila.
2. No, all medicals for the Tokyo office are sent to Manila. Note there are only 7 RMCs for Canada Immigration.

wpc71 and PMM :

Thank you a lot for your quick replies !!!!

Another person just sent me this URL of the clinic doing the examinations in Tokyo:
http://www.tmsc.jp/aframe,6visa.html

It says clearly
Canadian Embassy in Tokyo does not deal with medical reports. The destination must be outside Japan. We also need the address and telephone number of the destination if the destination is not Medical Office in Manila, Philippines.

So... issue solved! :) I'll book my appointment on Monday.

If your friend is in another category (not SW as me), her regional medical center might not be Manila. The clinic's website states the possibility that the destination is not Manila. The reason I asked question (3) is that I heard from a Japanese lady that her visa office was Tokyo and the destination for the medical results was Ottawa. She was sponsored by her husband in Family class.

Hi Shakira
My friend is also a FSW1 applicant. I am pretty sure it is manilla in her case as PMM suggested.
By the way, did you also receive a RPRF request? My friend has received medicals plus passport request but NOT a RPRF reuests and is wondering if it would be better to pay or not.

PMM, your input on this is also appreciated.

First of all congratulations! You are one step closer to your dream and hope you get your visa soon too:) Regarding your medicals, I am not sure either what is the correct answer but I am sure one of the designated doctors here would know where to send it. Perhaps you can ask the medical clinic where you are planning to do your medicals?

To wpc71:

If she's FSW1 processed in Japan, her medicals should go to Manila, I'm in the exact same category.

In the "Medical Examination Requirements" there should be 3 pages with this information:
- Part I - Information for applicants (lists of applicant categories and general instructions)
- Part II - Information for physicians / radiographers (what the title says)
- Designated medical practitioners (list of doctors in Japan)

And the third page says "To Applicants who will undertake Medical Examinations". This is where she has to fill out her own information (Name, birth date, hospital name, date of medicals) as well as the Date the Hospital mailed your results to Manila. So the destination is clearly written on the papers I got. I would suggest your friend to look over this information again and check if she got this last page. From what I read in Japanese forums (with a friend helping me) is that once you undergo the medical examinations, the clinic will let you know the date they sent the results. And the results are usually ready within 2-3 days.

About the RPRF: as you may have read in my other post, I've paid it already. I think it doesn't hurt to pay the RPRF in advance. All applicants have to pay it at some point, and by sending it along with any recent updates, she can show that she's really willing to move to Canada. She can also take into account that the Yen is pretty high now... better pay when the exchange rate is favourable!

To okshan819:

Thank you! I think it's a matter of patience and perseverance... but don't lose your hopes! The Tokyo office is quite fast and efficient compared to other offices.

Hi Gaizin,

I just put my information on my profile on the left. I applied in late 2005 to Manila -I'm in the group of people who got their files transferred to Tokyo and got the processing accelerated. I really consider myself lucky because Tokyo is processing immigration cases now.

I hope you can also get your visa soon.

Hi guys,

Just letting you know that I did my medicals at the Tokyo clinic today. Nothing too complicated, finished everything in less than 2 hours.

I have to get a few more things in order and then I'll send my final update to the Consulate.

Hope you all see progress in your applications!

Hi Shakira
Glad to hear all went well with your medical examination. I wonder if you already replied to this question: Did you also receive passport request and RPRF request at the same time as medical request?

Thanks...

Hi wpc71: Sorry I wasn't clear before. I did receive RPRF & passport requests plus instructions for medicals, all in the same envelope on Jan.25th. One more thing they requested is a police certificate from Mexican authorities which I applied for in my embassy. I should be getting this one next week. After that I can send all papers to the Tokyo office.

Thanks Shakira,
I asked this because that friend of mine only received passport request plus medicals and NO RPRF request. Her medical instructions also were missing additional information as yours and even the DMP list attachment although in the letter it said there was an attachment! That makes me feel that the Tokyo office might have simply forgotten to ask for RPRF payment. As many people advised here, she paid the RPRF and submitted the receipt along with other documents. She now just wonders if a passport request without RPRF request means visa stamping or not?
