do you know why CIC STAFFs do not answer same question in same way.I asked them about my test date ,applied august, and some says"within 25 months""and that is too soon"which is nothing like an answer, some says september, and I see some people are receiving test after 6 months.single applicant with straight application who came here as PR and left country just once ,do we have any people like this?or any person encountered same experience about CIC?

Why does this surprise you? Different people have different competency levels. Different people answer questions differently. Right now, the largest variable in how long it will take to have your application processed appears to be your local office. Where are you?

I know someone who received the letter five days before the test date.

Honestly, you should prepare for the test as soon as possible... Why wait? Knowledge is something ypu build slowly, why leave everything till the last minute? Is you start now and learn a bit every other day, by the day you get invited to take the test, you will be more than ready and you will also know more about Canada meanwhile!

As for the question about timelines, the only right answer is this one : www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=070&t=3

I received my study guide 2 months prior to receiving the notice to write exam, and had 3 weeks notice. I had plenty of time to study.

On the question of timelines and competency, when it comes to asking officials to predict time lines the question is really (how long is a piece of string?). Your timelines are significantly personal depending on your application complexity, type etc. No official will take the time to review your application to provide you an accurate timeline.

The simple answer is, it will take as long as it takes.

Good luck:)

I received my study guide two months prior to receiving the notice to write my exam as well. I started studying right away, studied every single day by taking online library tests until I went to write my test. And yes, it takes as long as it takes. It took over a year (ca.14 months) until I got my study guide.

If the study guide freaks you out, here is the CIC link for the current one.

1. They read off a script and whatever they see on their screens which for obvious reasons isn't really a great deal.

2. Its not their job really to hold your hand through the process which is how the courts see it beyond giving generic answers - the easiest is to answer with it takes 25 months since CIC recognize that most applicants call with the 'where is my application at' query.
