CIC + Returning Applicaton

It was stated that I need to use forms that are validated which I did and then I send it to my husband so he could send it back to them. That is weird that the agent said it didn't have to be validated but recommended to me....well I guess I should know for sure soon. Maybe I'll call again tomorrow and ask another agent and see what he says. I have to call anyway to find out about redoing the medical.

FS don't stress too much; u pass the 30 days mark, u will b almost 60 days mark soon so i doubt they return anything; what i read from others if they do return everything it happens in the 1st month; ur file is just where it's supposed to be: in some long queue or under many other files imagine it as u like ;)

Mine hasn't been returned so possibly meaning my non validated forms were ok?

Yes, it could be...especially seeing how I am in China and the mail system (or address system) seems so confusing to us foreigners. But come on, I really don't think that has happened.

Another question: If the application package was returned, would the call center have that information in their computer system?

In my case they had the infomartion in the computer. I was away visiting my husband when the application was returned (my neighbor/friend informed me of the returned application from CIC, since the package was too big to fit in the mail box, it was kept in the office building). I called CIC and they were able to pull out info from the computer.

Hope this does NOT happen to you: Our application was sent back last August 2011!!! got lost in the mail (local), spent the last 4 months or so trying to locate it everywhere without success. CPC-M never notified us that they had sent the package back until around December but only to remind us that failure to comply with the "earlier" notice (which we never received because it got lost in the first place, duh!) would mean we were abandoning our application altogether. Needless to say, it's been a rough ride trying to collect all the documentation from scratch, pulling up our energies to build the entire application all over again, etc. Unforltunately, the call centre was no help, we repeatedly demanded information about the status of the application and none of the people we spoke to ever mentioned that the application was sent back, one agent even said that incomplete applications are not sent back if the applicant is overseas, you go figure...

Anyways, you can imagine it's been extremely frustrating, but we've managed to put together a second package with various pieces here and there and hoping that this time around they'll have the decency to at least let us know in advance if the package is ever returned again.

Why doesn't CIC at least send some kind of notification if they return a package? In this case, you can see how it really made a mess of things; the applicants didn't even know about it until it was at a critical point!

I'm calling again this morning to try and get some kind of verification on whether or not my package is okay. I doubt it has been sent back because I made sure to do everything correctly and I spent HOURS checking it over and over and over...I am very careful when it comes to administrative type work, so I really think I have nothing to be concerned about. That being said, it would be nice to know one way or the other.

For me, it just smacks of total unprofessionalism to not send confirmation that the application is okay and in line for processing.

Hopefully I get through to a friendly agent who can try and find out what's going on...

Now that we know that March applicants are getting approvals, April is not long off, so perhaps they might be able to to a bit of checking...at least that's my hope. The last agent I spoke to confirmed they had my name in their system and that payment was received...does that mean anything?

FS, as to ur last point yes that means that for sure ur package is not lost or not send back...they opened it already, made a client id/file number for ur case, all the internal stuff...kind of verbal aor ;) so small congrats ;) and really don't worry!!
 
Really? I thought it just meant that payment had been received? The agent asked me for my name and date of birth, and after I gave it to him he told me about the payment being in the system. I tried to give him my receipt number, but he only wanted my name and date of birth.

Anyway, that's GREAT news!! I hope I will hear something soon!!

well many in Jan thread had no info at all for many weeks and they were giving the same info: name, dob, receipt number, etc; if we follow ur scenario we should all b in the system from day 1 - since most of us pay online before we sent and it takes faster to process a credit card than to receive a file by mail ::) ::) we r all in their payment system but until they match that with a client id from another place in the system it takes a while

first they have the sponsor name, then the applicant name, etc....next time u should see if u have a client id and if they have any record of her as well :)
