Hello!

We called CIC today to check on our application and were told the same thing! We applied Outland as well and were told we were missing form IMM 5285. It wasn't until after we got off the phone that we realized that this was their mistake, not ours. We tried calling back but the office is closed so we won't be able to reach them by phone until Tuesday. Of course, they just mailed our application back to us yesterday, though, so I suppose we have to wait until we receive it to send it back?

This is my nightmare. I hate that we're being punished by having to start over due to CIC's mistake.

Ridiculous.

Sorry for the unfortunate news. I know how it feels Did You get to call CIC and what was their advice in your case?
I did not send my application back today as I was hoping to receive any confirmation on my email from CPC M. No response today so I guess I am just gonna re-submit the application again tomorrow.
I am not sure if they will out me back on queue with application being submitted May 9th, 2014 or STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN!!!

Make sure to update the forms as their are two new forms updated one on June 2016 and and one on Aug 2014. Also do not forget to update some info in other forms (e.g. cohabitation period etc if applicable).

Updating the forms meant that all the May 9th, 2014 stamps on old forms are gone with discarding the old forms I am hoping we are back in line. I plead CPC M in my letter to fast track our step 1 processing... i shall wait and see...

Wow,this is just crazy.. hard to believe..3rd time it happened in very short time. I start to think they maybe got some kind of new checklists with mistake..
Both of u cant do much, just need to call and explain, then send again and attach letter of explanation.. Maybe pack documents in envelope and write with huge letters Sponsorship Outside Canada

Hi meiko and thanks again for your support and insights. Believe it or not, I had to make a copy of CPC M letter and my explanation letter in each envelope, wrote outland on almost all supporting documents coversheets... I did write a big note stating outland and re-submitted application in big fonts on a paper and put inside and on top of the box :-X

Yep I did put CPC - Ottawa as my VO as my spouse is a US citizen.. fingers -crossed that they wouldn't send it to LA with their 30 months processing :'(

the only files that have been forwarded to LA have been ones where an iterview is required. 99% of us citizen applications stay in Ottawa.

Just to let you know guys that we re-submitted our applucation to CPCM and was received on Aug 7th 2014. Same day I attached the resubmission and receipt deliver y notes and and sent CPCM to fast track our application as per original submission date. I received a response two days later that my file # ........ will be processed and treated as per original submission date. Finger crossed...

Hi Guys,

Just to update you that we called CIC call center on Friday Aug 22nd to inquire on the status of our sponsorship application but we were told that nothing on the system and that our application package probably awaiting to be opened. On Monday Aug 25th, we sent CPC-M a case specific inquiry that our application has been awaiting processing for over 100 days!!! Today Aug 27th at 8:50 AM we received our Sponsorship Approval letter by email and that our application was forwarded to CPC Ottawa. Finally we are passef CPC-M. Has been very stressful and thank you guys for the prayers and support Now another journey with Ottawa
