Hey El.Bee
Can you please update us where you finally did your medicals, India or US with the outcome?
I might be on a vacation at a time when I might recieve a medical request and wanna know if doing it outside has worked for you.
j2alberta,

Yes it worked for me. I had my application at Buffalo. However, during my exile (to India for H1B stamping) my medical request came. I got it done on the last day. It was fine with CIC, got AOR and now I am just waiting for passport request.

So, just go ahead and get the medicals done on-time, wherever you are. But keep in mind that its better to do the medicals for all family members at same place/same doctor.

Good luck.

dna,
appreciate your response. Congrats and great to know that all you gotta do is wait for the request for passports. Keep us updated on that.
Just 2 more questions:
1. Did you give any written explaination to CIC as to why you your medicals done in India or they did not ask at all?
2. How long has it been since you sent your medicals?

1. No I did not give any written explanation. Its given on CIC site that we can do medicals with any designated doctor anywhere in the world.
2. I did my medicals on March 15th and CIC has acknowledged receipt of them.

My PCC's were delayed and I just sent them on June 16th and waiting for next communication from them!!

Hey dna,
Based on what you have mentioned (plus what I have been reading on the forums), seems like you have to get ALL PCC's twice - once when you initially apply to CIC and second when you send your medicals, am I understanding this right??
Also, how long does it take for CIC to send you medical request given that your file has all necessary documents during submission?
