CIC Kitchener update

Hello all,

Thought this info might be of use but CIC Kitchener is now processing July 2018 application. Note thou they are understaffed. I am still waiting. Only thing left is just the test date.


my state:

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on December 31, 2018.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on February 21, 2019.
3. We started processing your application on March 19, 2019

My timeline is very similar to yours and am also being processed in Kitchener. If you don't mind me asking, how were you able to figure out that they are currently processing July 2018 applicants and that they are understaffed? Did you speak to someone at the CIC office?

Needed urgent processing for an emergency trip. My mp gave me this info.

My application was received on 20th March, AOR received on 30th May. Nothing after that.

So they are taking a year to actually start processing the application? Seems very slow. our process will take more than a year for sure.
