rant
The negative comments on these stories from the so-called real Canadian public really gets to me. Sure it is their country, but saying us applicants have a sense of entitlement to immigrate here is not right. We are merely following processes Canadians put in place and that they have now bungled up, in the process screwing hundreds of peoples' lives over financially, emotionally and physically. Does this not matter to a Canadian?
It sometimes makes me wonder what lies at the heart of a true Canadian - an almost racially motivated fear of foreigners, or a significant greed for economic prosperity at the cost of its own people and other countries whose talent they are poaching....

The comments at the bottom of the stories are making me very sad. Since when did Canadians become so hateful to us? I'm sure many of them were immigrants once too.

The comments at the ends of the stories are despicable. But I find Canadians a little like that. In person and face to face, you cannot find more polite, sympathetic, apparently good-hearted people. But when commenting anonymously, or behind the wheels of their cars, they spew venom like nobody's business! I've never seen anything like it anywhere else in the world!

I find some Canadians are very ignorant about immigration laws and how important it is for people like us trying to settle down here. I can't believe certain persons even say what difference it would make if CIC had posted real-time applications received toward the cap. It probably would have bought the teacher some time to think of other strategies and saved himself the chance to be in Canada, contribute to the economy; couple months, or even weeks, counts in crucial time like this.

And they complained about job like this or that could be done by a Canadian?! We have the same education (and i'm talking from my point of view as a graduate from a Canadian institute) but why employers pick a foreign worker over Canadian? At the end of the day, employer doesn't hire a candidate because they are Canadian or not (only the government makes them do so and I understand it's only fair to their people), but based on your performance at school and experience. As a new graduate, while I'm interning my a** off for free just to gain experience to get a foot in the door to land a decent job so that I can be qualified for my PR, fresh-out-of-school Canadians are expecting to land a good job with high pay, denying any opportunities that provide them experience and who are they to say why foreign workers are chosen over Canadians for jobs.

It makes me mad when people make such statements!

these are those kinda people, called " ARM CHAIR PHILOSOPHERS". they don't want to do anything, neither send their kids for higher education nor work hard to keep up their jobs and yet ask for high pensions and unemployment insurances from the Govt.

They only know how to sit on an Arm Chair and complain/ pass uninformed opinions about political topics!

I've never heard an educated, informed Canadian ever complain so bluntly about immigration.

I agree Immigration need to be controlled and trash immigration has to be stopped, but those comments are totally baseless!
Please pay no heed to them!
