I find some Canadians are very ignorant about immigration laws and how important it is for people like us trying to settle down here. I can't believe certain persons even say what difference it would make if CIC had posted real-time applications received toward the cap. It probably would have bought the teacher some time to think of other strategies and saved himself the chance to be in Canada, contribute to the economy; couple months, or even weeks, counts in crucial time like this.
And they complained about job like this or that could be done by a Canadian?! We have the same education (and i'm talking from my point of view as a graduate from a Canadian institute) but why employers pick a foreign worker over Canadian? At the end of the day, employer doesn't hire a candidate because they are Canadian or not (only the government makes them do so and I understand it's only fair to their people), but based on your performance at school and experience. As a new graduate, while I'm interning my a** off for free just to gain experience to get a foot in the door to land a decent job so that I can be qualified for my PR, fresh-out-of-school Canadians are expecting to land a good job with high pay, denying any opportunities that provide them experience and who are they to say why foreign workers are chosen over Canadians for jobs.
It makes me mad when people make such statements!
