Hey all,

There's been a lot of good news lately...but in light of the recent page showing that the outland processing time is now 26 months, it is really important that everyone posts their timeline to the 2015 outland spreadsheet so we can get a more accurate picture of how long the processing times are taking. Congratulations to those of you whose immigration journey is coming to an end...for those of us still waiting (and faced with the new processing time uncertainty) posting your timelines really give us hope (even if you have received your COPR or visa or have landed already)

The 2015 outland spreadsheet is here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FAYZyQgud1lzp7fM28i2O8ZrfbMAxdTc_t7_fiwI6ak/edit#gid=658388151

Take care,

C.

whats going on here??

Hello all
26 months! It was only 11 months last week for Hong Kong visa post!
My wife's outland app timeline:

1-July13.15 received app for PR
2-Sept14.15 started processing app
3-Sept18.15 requested medical (my wife didn't do the upfront medical because she was already pregnant when we submitted the app, she did all of the medical except for the X-ray in oct2015, then after giving birth she did the X-ray early Dec2015)
4-medical results have been received (no date given I'm guessing 2nd week of Dec it was updated)

So my question: " Is it 26 months from July or from Dec?" This is so F'en frustrating!

Or does it even apply to those who are already in process?? who knows??

How can they just randomly pick a number for processing time for all the visa posts in different countries. Such BS!

Its probably an average, not a random. Let's see, maybe the system is under development and they will add a VO selection later on - they did it for visitor visa option.

You are smart, I believed you are right.

It's not an average, it's an 80% time that's most likely based on the slowest visa office. 80% times are NOT averages, they are more worst-case indicators that show how long it took to process some of the slowest apps.

An "average" processing time would be better reflected by the 50% processing times which you can only see by downloading the excel spreadsheets that CIC releases.

I referred to the average between the various VOs, not the average of processing times. Anyhow, its just a guess, lets see how it develops.

Just ignore the times and look at the overall spreadsheet or the spreadsheet for your VO.

I agree with ignoring it. Don't let it rule you.

Is there an Ottawa CPC spreadsheet? I've never seen one

Its definitely not an average between all the sites as the vast majority are processed way quicker than that (half the time). As I said, it's more likely the 80% stat for the very worst visa office. So CIC is basically just showing a worst case scenario.

How can the Outland times be so far off from what the actual times are, yet Inland is pretty much exactly what's shown?

Why can't more Inland applicants be processed faster...maybe even substantially faster?

Some have been processed faster, but...not many.
