I'm sorry this happened to you, but do keep us posted on what happens.

I know CIC is hard to reach, but I wouldn't say impossible... I would keep calling until you get a hold of someone and explain your situation. As someone who went through this painful process, I wouldn't want to go through it again so I hope you can convince them that you did try and that you do want to be a PR. I don't think it's realistic to wait for them to call you though, so try to reach them ASAP.
