Hello

Does anyone know why an interview would be requested before AIP? My husband is out of status and we havent received AIP but we got called in for an interview. Im just not sure what to expect

From what I can see from all the posts of people who's files get transferred it generally happens when status has ran out. The Canadian Government wants to keep families together not tear them apart so please keep that in mind. It is hard for anybody here to help you with this when we have no idea what your background situation is.

I filed for my husband under the inland. His status has already ran out. This is our second time applying. The first time the app was incomplete so the sent it back. This time they received the application april 2012 and we rcvd an email that it was in process. In sept we rcvd a letter that our file was transferred to the vancouver office and then yesterday we got a letter for an in call notice interview. Everything was sent with the application, meds police check and we even applied for an OWP because I was pregnant @ the time of the application. Now they want us to fill out another application form when we come for the interview.

Im really unsure of what this means. I have a new baby and I guess im just worried

At least you are not waiting very long. We got a letter also stating that the file has been transferred although the reason is not clear. I have my assumptions but I look forward to the interview so that my husband can get his AIP. Let me know how it works out. I am sure everything is fine.

Hello Dee and Peaches,

Did they ask you to bring more proofs of relationship to this interview?

From what I´ve been reading on the forums, files transfer before AIP means you will have to prove relationship.

It may not apply to 100% of cases, but that´s the information I could gather.

No we just received the letter October 1st indicating that the file had been transferred. It is actually in Hamilton where we live so it isn't so bad actually and although they say the wait can be four to six months I have heard the Hamilton is office is pretty quick. I'm looking forward to an interview. I have more than enough proof that we are residing together as a married couple and I have recently changed my last name. We will be ordering the FOSS notes with the hopes that it will give us some insight.

Yes they did ask for more proof off the relationship. We have a 5month old I dont know how much more proof they want. WE have a joint account but everything else is pretty much in my name. Its really hard to get loans and leases etc in both our names. I wanted to order the FOSS notes but the interview is right after the holidays

I want you to try to stop stressing. If your relationship is genuine then you have nothing to worry about. The Canadian Government is doing their job, the way they should. I met my husband on line in October of last year and married him in February of this year. I would have been shocked if they hadn't transferred that file here. They want to see your family all together and hear the story of your marital arrangement first hand and possibly ask about your goals. The CIC cannot deny the truth, that you love one another and plan to be together for the rest of your lives. They certainly will not send your husband home and expect you to take care of that baby alone unless he has not been up front about something. Just be honest. Don't make anything up to make the relationship sound better. I am with you in spirit. Everything will be fine.

Hello ,i apply in august 2010 cic vegreville transfer my file june 2011 to the local office without AIP and last week the local office sent me a letter they want me for interview to prove my relationship...in 3 weeks

What is your local office. I have already ordered FOSS notes and I am preparing all of my documentation for proof of this relationship. That includes joint bank account, joint car insurance, changing my name. Beneficiary change to my husband following the marriage. Letters from friends, family and colleagues. I think it's great that you have that interview. It likely means once they see you together they will give you the AIP. I am not waiting around.

Yeah I agree. I just hear the interviews can be nerveracking. My fingers are crossed. I hope everyones interview goes well. I will keep you guys posted

Hi Peaches, for some reason i can send u a private msg. I think the interview went well. Im still waiting to hear the decision. The IO told us 2 days time we will get a letter in the mail. We were interviewed separately and we werent asked much questions. Im hoping i hear from the soon. Overall i think it was fine. We brought a ton of stuff pictures, cards billsn etc and the IO barely looked at them. She didnt seem too interested in going thorugh them either.
