My phone was broken and my wife (a sponsor) missed a call from CIC. They left a voicemail that they will call again tomorrow. Didn't say why they called.

Why would they call? because she doesn't have a income/job since she is on mat leave?

Would they doubt our marriage? it is so legit and truth is a weapon itself, i highly doubt that CIC would have any questions?

Can I give my lawyer's number instead? Can my lawyer answer the call not my wife or myself?

Please help me!

Truth is not a weapon. If you want to know why IRCC are calling you're going to have to pick up the phone. If you want to add your lawyer as your representative, that will likely add at least several weeks of processing time, although you could possibly do it.

It's entirely possible you just forgot to include something & they're trying to let you know rather than return the whole thing. If it was something bad, you'd be getting a detailed letter - that's when you know they want to cover themselves, and make sure there's a written record of everything.

I will answer tomorrow, but I just figured this out tonight and my immigration lawyer's business hour's over so I can't check with him either!!

if I feel like something is going wrong or I don't understand CIC's intention of calls etc. Can I tell CIC to call my lawyer? He's a representative of my application.

Have you had sponsor approval (SA)? If not then they might be calling to ask the sponsor some questions, they did that in my case. They called asked him if he had ever sponsored someone before? Been in a marriage before? And if he was aware of what the sponsorship agreement entitled? He replied to all the questions, and the next day we got SA. So don’t be afraid to pick up the phone, be happy they are calling and not asking you for a letter, because with a letter it is easier for you to be put back in the pile. I hope this can bring you some peace of mind.

Hi some people in the forum have received calls from IRCC which turn out to be Telephone landing appointment. The call to find out of you might opt for that. Just pick the call it might be good news. I have a question regarding the number that called. Is it 1800 number or 647 number. Does it accept a return call?
I mean the number that called you?
Thanks guys
