yes they may as a part of their verification process. but its unlikely that they will tell Mr xx has applied for immigration to Canada. they will most probably verify it anonymously.

yes they can verify ur employment before or after rprf. i have faced both telephonic or personal..

r u kiddin they wont visit personally just enquire on phone or e-mail if they have to

I know that Vienna VO calls employers sometimes.
They've just called one woman's employer couple weeks ago to ask if she wors there and about some paper, I didn't understand her exactly what. They have a person who speaks your language, so your boss doesn't have to know english.
After that they've tried to reach her but her phone was busy and they didn't try again.
A day after she had received a MR.
