Hi Friends,

CIC gave me a shock!! I am September AOR (FSW Inland) and was close to PPR. But I got married on Jan 7th. Now when I update CIC about my marriage with Marriage Certificate, CIC is asking me to submit spouse details (PCC, Medicals and other documents) to be submitted with in 7 days or they will reject my application.

Not sure why they have given so little time. Anyone has any idea? Please help with your inputs.

Thanks
Rob

Hi first of all congratulations on your nuptials.

If I were you I would do the following:

1) Organize an appointment with a CIC doctor in the Province or Territory you and your wife are living in. Even if you can't get an appointment in 7 days you can upload a file stating you have made contact with and booked an appointment for her with a CIC doctor.

2) Organize for the non-Canadian PCC for your wife to be sent. Again upload proof that you have pro-actively taken steps to do this. CIC realize sometimes 7 days is not enough to organize for such documents to be processed and sent to you.

3) Organize to get the 'other' documents CIC have requested.

Basically make an attempt to get them.

Wishing you and your wife all the best.

Apply for medicals and PCC. Upload those evidences in the designated placeholder in MyCIC along with a covering note requesting CIC to provide you some extension to that 7 day deadline - they will respond favorably to such a request.

Your time lines say july.. Upload the proof and a covering letter stating you've applied for the documents that CIC had requested. Sent them other documents such as any forms that they must have requested. All the best and congratulations for your wedding :)

Thank you Asivad. Hope CIC will understand my situation and allows bit more days if necessary.

Hey 89robinm,

How did you notify CIC about your marriage? Via CSE - if I am not wrong? Did you attach only your marriage certificate with the CSE or any additional documents?

I went through my Lawyer. They told that they had sent an email to CIC attaching marriage certificate.
