CIC asked me to submit a copy of my passport

Dear Friends,

I received an email from CPP-Ottawa-Pilot to submit a copy of a passport for myself with a validity longer than six months. I submitted the requested documents a couple of days ago. I am wondering whether this request is a good indication or not ?
Please guys tell me what you think.

Just check whether PP copy that you submitted earlier with the app still hold good validity, I mean not about to expire in near future ! Because the only reason that comes to my mind is that they want to make sure you have renewed your PP, in case your already submitted copy is near to expiry now.

Thnak you dear friend for your reply. The copy I submitted expired twice and I renewed it. Now, it is valid till 2015.

Expiry of your recent PP is 2015, but are you sure that after renewal you had submitted the latest PP copy to your VO, ie copy of your very recent PP is with VO ! In any case you just go ahead and submit, there doesn't seem any big issue in it, cheers
