They work all non-statuary holidays (and weekends).

My current WP was received on December 22, and the case was open on December 29. I admire those guys, we all go on a break and they don't.... and waiting times don't even increase during that period.

ok so i might expect something in the coming few days.. it been almost 13 months but no good news yet

They will operate with skeleton staff..
It will be like a freeze period during dec 16 to jan 4 all over the offices not only CIC
People goes on vacation mostly during this period.

Cheers

as a public service employee, I can tell you the following:

government agencies dont shut down over the holidays. the only time you should expect almost a complete stop in service delivery is during statutory holidays. however, if CIC is anything like the agency I work for (which I know it is), they will operate with the very minimum number of staff members. all non-essential personnel and those requesting vacation time (unless its a matter of seniority or business need) will be off. while CIC will not be shut down, one shouldnt expect much over the holidays.

i know from my business unit in particular, almost everyone is off until the new year. we have people on-call for matters that require urgent attention, but all others are out and about. its very common to request about 2 weeks worth during this time of year. i know i did! ;D

those are stat holidays that we get off....most take additional vacation time in between as well. read my post above. :)

**most take time off between 23rd of december and 3rd of january.

Agreed, but does that mean the office is closed? :(

I am sending my application on Dec 23 and I am hopping that it is delivered on Dec 24.. (before the holidays)

I'd say that you should keep in mind the stat holidays you listed up there. Those are the dates that most, if not all, gov agencies observe. Otherwise, it will be open and they will accept your app. And besides, Canada Post probably wouldnt try an deliver on stat days anyway...I would think. It wont just not get delivered, so dont worry about that.

And I say again, stat holidays excluded, CIC will be open with the minimum number of staff there. There are always employees who dont want to take these days off (stats excluded) and who like the quiet time to get stuff done. I know some folks in my business unit who prefer to stick around. Not to mention....look at the previous trackers (spreadsheets) for December and you will see apps delivered during this time. Even on the 31st. So, you do what you need to and it will be fine! :)

Any idea about how much time does IRCC takes in reviewing the Additional documents. In my status it is showing “3 Nov 2022 ,we are reviewing the additional documents submitted “.It is more than a month now.Mine is PNP via EE,Nov 2021 AOR.
