Dear Seniors or All those done their medical pl advise on the choice of alternative ID docs in absence of original passport during medical exam.
Anybody have had similar experience... could you Pl share.......
In fact in response to the advise made by some of the forum members, I had to apply for a new passport for my 8 yr old daughter (My daughter was included in her mother's passport since she was 3 yrs) and as required with the application I had to sent my spouse's original passport to the consulate office. I am still expecting the passports (both my spouse and daughter's-to be newly issued) back in hand before our scheduled medical next week. But If I finally don't get them back by then will the certified photocopy/Xerox of the passport work for the purpose or can be accepted as their alternative ID for Medical at DMP? Anybody have had similar situation to come across? What other ID docs I can use for them if their original passport not being possible to produce ? Pl advise.

However, as principal applicant I have my original passport ready to produce as ID doc for myself.

Any chance the DMP can deny to carry on medical without valid Id like passport despite my valid reason and possible explanation.... Could that also make delay for the Med report to sent to RMP from the DMP with particular note of ID issues?

Thanks for your relevant advise and suggestion in this regard.

With a slight persuasion the DMP would accept the pp photocopy (not in your case). Specifically to your baby's scenario - take the Birth Cert with u, with an explanation it'd suffice.

Hi
The DMP must confirm the identity of the applicant using a government issued
photo-identity document such as a passport or national identity card.
When a passport is not available, only an original national identity document
incorporating a photograph, full name, date of birth and signature can be
substituted. The national identity card should have been issued within the last
10 years. Photocopies (certified or not certified) of passports or national identity
documents are not acceptable.

Thanx captain. In fact I was expecting an expert and encouraging note from you in any given chance. Yes I have my daughter's original Birth Certificate to take along....Just wondering as from the CHC sent Med Form IMM 1017 have already pasted our (Me, my spouse and daughter) photographs and as advised we are also taking 3 copy of our photographs for the medical... They also supposed to work as respective ID for us to the DMP to verify....

Will expecting and appreciate comments and suggestion from someone might have faced similar situation...... could anyone else pl share....................

Well the problem and issue is related to the production of ID for my spouse and daughter.... We don't have Govt issued ID card here... Although I have several other Photo ID like student card, Driving License but as dependent they don't have any of them.... However, as the issue is to verify individual ID with the CHC sent photograph and signature on Med Form...they still can do the match with the physical appearance of my spouse and daughter..... Just wondering whether they will be so critical to accept the photocopy of passport as alternative after explaining the valid reason of the inability to produce my wife and daughters original passport.

What you suggest me to do then? Am I supposed to cancel the DMP appointment until I got my daughter and spouse's original passport back from the consulate or should go for the IME and try luck to persuade DMP with explaining reason of inability and passport photocopies.....However I have already paid for the advance booking fees for each of my family which might be forfeited to have missed the appointment or failed to cancel beforehand!! In fact there has not been any appointment available before the X'mas and New year holidays and I really managed to get the appointment next week after several attempt........

Any further input and advise from someone else..... Any one faced similar situation?.....Pl share on how did you manage or tackle....Thnx

Sorry Qorax.. Unfortunately it didn't work for me.. In fact I talked with the DMP today prior to the appointment (just to avoid on spot disappointment and also to save the possibilities of forfeiting booking money). He was however inclined to allow my daughter but not my spouse without original passport to carry on IME as per their rule. As she(my spouse) doesn't have any other form of ID either (like student card/driving licence) therefore I really didn't have any choice other than having to shift the appointment after the holidays (first week of January)... By this time hopefully I will get back their passports in hand... Considering the slim chance from DMP to sent the medical report to the RMO before the holidays even if we had done with medical by current appointment... The shifted appointment possibly will not make us a big difference in period of waiting ..... Anyway many thanx Captain for your tips and suggestion. May God bless you.
