Thanks Flash! :)

And I thought that Beijing was suppose to be Super fast between 4 - 6 months only.

My wife said she read in the Chinese forum that it is ok to pre-submitt her passport to make the processing faster instead of waiting for Beijing visa office request. Now I am thinking is it a good or bad moved that we did?? ::)

I was wondering if it even make a different to check on CAIPS note. I just don't want to upset Beijing VO unnessarily.

Many thanks!

Hi,

Yes, I read somewhere of some people sending in the passport without request also. I suppose it potentially could save you a week or two in the time for courier etc. If you have a courier record of your delivery than at least you know it will be in safe hands for now. However, your wife will have to be without her passport now until it's returned. The VO often asks for additional information at the same time as the PPR so you may get that request eventually also.

The CIC website and Beijing VO give the official estimate for the average cases (80 % in 8 months). Of course some are sooner if its a straight forward application, some later. Keeping fingers crossed for you!

The notes are now called GCMS, in place of CAIPS. If you request only the electronic files everyone says it does not cause any actual file review interruption. With these you can at least tell more information about the stages of your application.

Regards,

Hi Flash,

Thanks for the update.

Wife and I, we decided to be more patience with the processing and let Beijing do what they need to do. 8)

I will be traveling to her in May and spend a couple of months traveling around China. Perhaps by then everything will smooth itself out, and she will be given her travel documents?? We are also planning to visit the Canadian Embassy in Beijing in late June, if the process should take longer. We're keeping ours fingures crossed.

Kind regards,

Kind regards,
I would avoid traveling around Shanghai and neighboring provinces due to the avian flu.

Thanks for the heads up.

We will mostly be touring Sichuan province, and her family.

This sponsorship waiting game is a big Drama and Suspense for everyone.

Good luck to everyone out there!

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any new updates from the Beijing VO? Is the foreign service potential actions affecting their services now ?

laomiao and YJ88888,

Thank you for the link. I was on that thread for a while and couldn't find any spreadsheet that is similar to what we do on this forum. Did you happened to see one on the other (Chinese) forum you posted?

Thank you again,

Minj

Hi Flash and Minj,

A friend of my in Beijing told me that Beijing VO no longer reply to VISA inquires. I also found this site. . .

The Embassy of Canada to China
25 Mar 2013 ... For General Information Only -- No Visa Enquiries. Address: Canadian Embassy
19 Dongzhimenwai Dajie Chao Yang District Beijing 100600 ...
canadainternational gc ca

A couple of days ago, I used the bottom email address and it seems to have went through fine. The response was I need to wait for 28 days for a reply and only if it is after the normal processing time. Currently, it is 8 months waiting period. Very frustrating

Case specific enquiry. Sorry it would not allow me to post link on this site??

Hope this helps alittle.

Hi Minj,

Thanks for the update. It seems Beijing VISA Approval rates are all over the map starting from 3 months to 6 months. The good news is not too many applicants got interviewed.

I received my DM1 on December 12, 2012 and Beijing AOR on January 18, 2013. Till this day I got no more update from them (BJ VO).

Frustrated :(

Hey guys,

I got an AOR from Beijing Visa Office yesterday and today another email came in requesting my passport... Does the ppr usually happen that soon?! Does that mean I'm almost there?! I just can't believe it!

Just to share a little bit of my background...I studied and worked in the US for several years before I moved to Toronto. My application was submitted on Feb 28,2013 and was 1st stage approved on March 27th... So I didn't really expect the ppr would come that soon!

Hi lynnbb,

Well miracles may happen, but keep in mind the average processing time of 8 months for Beijing and don't hold your breath too long :)

In our case we submitted in July 2012, Sponsor approval end of August and PPR end of Nov 2012. They still have the PP ! Going on 5 months now. The VO asked for a bit more information, but otherwise no indication of why the long time. We are a blended family, perhaps that complicates things, with several children. You would think that family reunification would increase our priority. However, it may still be within 8 months - depends on when you start counting.

By the way, just make sure you supply the PP and any other documents within the timeframe required - otherwise they don't accept them. For us I think the PPR said 45 days. I wonder if Beijing is starting to ask for PP early, like some of the other VO (New Delhi?).
