Yes, April 4

That is great, and no I wont be going to Beijing for my wife interview as I am working, and have two kids to look after. I hope
my wife will be ok, we are preparing additionl proof to bring as well.

It has been today 5 months since I submitted my application to Mississauga on October 19,2011. So far, I received an AOR from Beijing on February 24. My e-cas shows that Beijing has started to process the application on February 2nd,2012. Hope to have good news to share with everybody soon. Good luck to everyone!

Visa offices often behave strange.Since Feb 17th 2012 that Beijing VO has my wife's passport, nothing has happened .It's really weird why would they ask for someone's passport when they are not ready to issue a visa? is this logical? my wife can't even travel inside China now coz to board a high speed train or a plane , she needs her passport. When i send her money, i must send it to her friend to help her because without her passport , she can't do anything , Not having a passport available in China is quite risky for a foreigner .
Why would CIC do such things? they all know in a foreigner living in a foreign country needs his/passport almost on a daily basis.
The applicant's passport should normally be requested once the application has been processed , why holding such an important document for so long!
Really fustrating .

Good luck to all of us.

Hi Zagalo,

I think your wife's visa should be issue very soon, since they have requested for her passport.

why does she needs the passport to go to Beijing if she is in China, if she can also travel by train. you dont need passport to travel by train.

Hi everybody,
Today, the Beijing Visa Office (VO) has requested the passport of my wife. She called me around 5am (my time in Canada) to tell me the good news. Only my wife has received the e-mail, and I would not have known anything otherwise. Every communication we have received so far were sent to both of us, but not this time.

However, does the passport request mean that the interview has been waived ? There is no word about it in the letter.

Good luck to all of us.

Congradulation, I guess when they ask for the passport, usually mean interview is waived.

Iamhopeful, congrats on the passport request! Happy for you!

Lesley , thanks for your encouragements .
Well if you want to take a fast train in China you need your ID , by fast train i mean D and G series trains .They have been doing this since last year except if you want to take the slow one .
Anyway there is no other choice than to wait

Good luck to us !

Well, I guess if no other choice have the slow one then in case need for an interview. But maybe the interview is waived since they have asked for the passport.

Good luck to all of you!
