Hey Lesley ,
so technically it's been 2 months since u got approved from Mississauga right? hopefully you get a PPR soon , let's just keep fingers crossed!
I was approved to sponsor my wife on Jan 10th , hopefully the file is in Beijing or will be soon , really hope everything goes fast for us , right now i think we are the only 3 applicants on this thread with mark_in_canada , any other person? please add your case here!

Yes, it's been a long time already since I received the AOR from the Beijing Office on December 15, until then, nothing really update in ECAS nor any email yet. still waiting.......

Hey Guys!!
Good newsssssssss ! my wife got passport request by E-mail from Beijing, China office today , it was dated February 14th 2012 , The E-mail had two attachments one for the acknowledgement of receipt with new file ID and the other with the passport request.
She will send her passport in the coming hours .
I thank God for this moment and wish her visa will be in her hands soon .

Hi che.the.spy & fast,

We received an email from Beijing VO requesting for an interview with us on March 6 and we are preparing to go to Beijing and hopefully come back with visa on hand. Right now, we are a little bit nervous of the interview. Would you mind to share with us some of the questions they ask at the interview? Or does anyone have any ideas about the interview? Thanks.

Hi Lesley , happy to see there is a move on your application , hopefully you will receive the vsa the same day . Usually they call for the interview to confirm the informations you wrote on your file and see if your relationship is genuine , it will be good for you to focus on the history of your relationship with your partner , some small details and try to bring some additional proofs .I think it is a routine interview so you will just need to show that you know each other well and that you will be able to live together after you move to Canada. By the way have they asked you for your passport before? or any other additional documents?

Thanks for your advice. No, they didn't ask for the passport before but we have already them early last week anyway and some additional photos and proof for the last few months.

Fingers crossed for you too, since they have asked for your passport, I'm sure they are ready to issue the visa for your wife then. Don't worry, you will be getting the visa soon!

lesley, your wife did not have a birth certificate?

my wife didnt have a birth certificat she lost it. she had to go to the police station in the town she was born and get a photo copy of her birth registary and get a special stamp on it. She then went and handed it in to a notary to have it translated and made it to a copy that is just as good as the original. not sure what all that means.

Application Received and Started Processing at Beijing: February 2, 2012
Medical results have been received (according to our online status)
Received acknowledgement letter from Beijing Office: February 24, 2012

If anyone else has any timelines for processing, we would like to know !!

lesley, your wife did not have a birth certificate?

No, she didn't have it because at her hometown, they dont have anything such as birth certificate when she was born. Also because usually at that time, most of the child was born at their home, so they don't have such a thing as birth certificate at all. So I guess, when she do the interview, we just have to tell the judge that way, hopefully they will wave it.

Did your wife have the birth certificate? where and how did she get it?

My wife is from ChengDu, but she currently lives in Shanghai. I went to Hangzhou during my last trip in China, but I have never been in ChengDu yet.

Wow i can see your application took a long time from Mississauga to Beijing. Dec 29th 2011 to Feb 2nd 2012 when they started processing your application in Beijing anyway the good news is that you got the AOR and you are definitely on the right track.
As for me , my wife got AOR and Passport request at the same time ,one month after the approval in Mississauga. Hope they are ready to issue the visa !
Mark_in_Canada and you got AOR from Beijing first and soon will be PPR as well, lesley has an interview in March , Let's cross our fingers for we three on this thread going through Beijing!
