hi,
sir i am holder of closed work permit in Canada for two years . my wife and my children are having visitor visa. they are coming next month here. Hopefully my wife will be applying for open work permit and my kids are going to study in school here. the question is do they require to purchase return ticket (as they are visitor till now) or single sided ticket. if travelling on single ticket would there be any trouble for them on arriving at canada airport .

If they are coming to Canada on TRVs, yes - they need return / two-way tickets. If they only have one-way tickets, they will almost certainly be refused boarding by the airline when they try to board the plane to Canada.

Hi,

I am hoping to join my husband in BC, Vancouver who is on a closed work permit. Is it possible to land in a job relevant to my work experience? I am business analyst. And can I apply for OWP after securing a job in canada?

Thanks in Advance!

You need to get the OWP before you start looking. Most employers won't consider you until they know you are able to work in Canada. Finding a job in your field depends on a lot of things so hard to comment. If your visa only covers a short time frame employers may not to hire an employee that may not be around in the longterm. Depends on previous experience, education, where you are living in Canada, etc. There isn't a ton of hiring doing the late November to mid January period due to the holidays except in industries related to the holidays.

And should I resign from my current job in order to apply for SOWP?

No. The best thing would be to keep working until you receive SOWP. You can only continue working remotely from Canada if you employer has no business contracts with Canadian business and has no Canadian offices. It can take a while to receive SOWP.

Thank you so much for your response. One last question. My husband's company is asking for a no objection letter from my employer, which I think my employer will not provide or a resignation letter. Is this mandatory to obtain SOWP? How can I resign when there are chances of rejection?
