Hi Folks,

I have a question, I am currently an international student in Ontario (Hamilton), my husband and my son (3 year old) will come on summer. My husband is applying for his work permit. However, we are thinking about fees of daycare. My question is:
1.- Could my husband apply for daycare subsidy if he would earn just a basic wage? (everybody knows that at the begining is difficult to get a job without canadian experience)
2.- Could he apply on line before coming to Canada. ? ( I know there is a wait list. )

Thank you for helping me... :)

You will have check with your local city but I would imagine the limited subsidized daycare spots are limited to PRs and citizens. You also would qualify for child tax benefit after 18 months of working.

We don't qualify for a subsidy even though our daughter is born in Canada. Internationals don't qualify for anything, pretty much.
