child care subsidy - does this count as receiving social assistance?

Quick question -

Just about to start the daunting process for my husband... Our daughter and I are already here in Canada. I was just about to apply for the child care subsidy to have day care subsidised as I work full time, and am obviously solo parenting right now as he is still overseas. But will this effect our application negatively? Will this count as being on social assistance?

No it shouldn't but you haven't specified what program so can't say 100%. You are solo parenting but also must declare your husband's income when it comes to subsidies, taxes, child tax credit, etc
