Hi All

If I and my wife have our Canadian PR and my kid is born outside of Canada will he/she automatically get Canadian PR/Passport at their birth?

No - the child will not automatically get Canadian PR at birth. You will have to sponsor the child for PR. In order to sponsor the child for PR, the parent sponsoring the child must be physically in Canada at the time the sponsorship application is submitted and must remain in Canada while the sponsorship application is processed. When you apply to sponsor your child, you also need to make sure you meet the residency obligation for PR.

Alternatively you can give birth in Canada. (there are costs associated with this of course.)

Birth in Canada makes your child a citizen at birth.
