Hey guys. Quick questions regarding CCB for temporary workers.

1. If we had 2 different addresses in the 18 months timelapse, do we need to send proof for both? Or just the current one?

2. There is a section that says if a child started living with the parent(s) more than 11 months before the application, we need to prove that we are responsible for him. Is it only necessary in case of separation and shared custody? Our kids are 2 and 7, they live obviously with us since they were born (so more than 11 months) and we are not separated. Do I need to send proof for that too?

Thanks for your help :)

Not all parents move to Canada with their children. You need to prove your children have been living with you since you arrived in Canada.

Ok thanks. For my older kid I can provide proof (school, paid activities...), but for the younger one who was 6 months when we came, I don't have any proof for our first address. No activities for him, no family doctor (even no health insurance since we were in Quebec on OWPs), no daycare... I will send his visitor record anyway, where it shows that he entered Canada the same date as my wife did, and I can prove with his passport that he never left the country after that. Do you think that will be enough?

Can’t say but they will ask for more proof if necessary

Thanks. Do you think I can attach a letter of explanation with our CCB application? I don't know if it's common practice, like when applying for a WP or PR.

I have been working in Canada for 1.5 years, I came with my children. ( July 2019)
My PR application has been approved and I am expected to get my first PR card in few weeks.. Will be entitled to child benefits for the past 1. 5 years? Thank you .

No.

Hi. I have a question. I wasn't able to get Child benefits for the last 18 months since my child was born. We applied for it but we haven't heard from CRA. I am currently in an open work permit and has applied spousal sponsorship last May 2019. My husband has been a permanent resident since December 2013. Thank you.

Did your husband apply for CCB or you did?

How long should the child have stayed with the parent in Canada before the child can be eligible for CCB?

1. Am on work permit in Canada (arrived in Feb 14, 2020)
2. I clocked 18 months in Canada on August 14th, 2021
3. Wife (OWP) and child (Visitor) arrived in Nov 2020
4. We applied through my wife but they said we are not eligible due to residency requirement
5. Wife and child have now stayed for 9 months in Canada

You are the only one who qualifies to apply child benefit as long as you meet the requirements. You had to be in Canada for 18+ months, Your wife was correctly refused.
