You should have notified CRA that your family is no longer living in Canada. You will have to repay the child benefits funds you received while you were living outside of Canada since you were not entitled to them. You should be honest with CRA about your residency (lying to them is fraud, and a crime) - and then you should be prepared to repay the child benefit funds you received while living outside of Canada.
 
Besides CRA will come to know anyway once they do an audit once you file for taxes. You cant hide nor lie to them
 
No, as long as you've paid back the money. Realistically you should be physically residing in Canada to receive CTB

If you wanted to be on the safe side, you should never have claimed the benefits you weren't eligible for.
 
its not just $100 return but additional amount of areal interest on top of that plus one is red flagged in their system for future audit , PR and citizenship application will be scrutinized closely. End of the day one will receive what he/she deserve but with lot of pain hassle mental torture and wait game...
