Child Benefit Rejection

I move into Canada on 14th of May 2024 and in July 2024 I filled in for child benefit and it was rejected stating that I don't meet the residency requirement however, I moved into Canada as a PR. What could be the issue?

So you filled out and mailed in the form RC66? Are you married and spouse is in Canada? Is child in Canada? Have you filed taxes?

Yes I filled the form and send it to Manitoba. I am married and my spouse and I move to Canada as PR on the same day. About taxes... I was not here last here. Moved in only on 15th of May

So contact CRA and ask why you are not eligible.

I finally spoke to an agent and I was asked to send a photocopy of my PR card and my children's birth certificate. I can't remember if I sent that initially

Yes that alone would have lead to a denial
