Checklist questions

There are 2 checklists, the sponsor checklist and the country specific. They both ask for almost the same thing except a couple of requirements that take you into different directions:

1. In the sponsor checklist #13 Photocopy of either.... it asks only the bio-data page of my passport. But in the country specific one it asks that my wife provides ALL of the sponsor's (mine) pages of the passport. Which one do I go with?

2. All photocopies must be certified or do I only certify when it asks, even though it never asks.
ie: Divorce certificate or passport or citizenship photocopies?

3. For the marriage certificate, do I provide just one (my copy)? or do I put both hers and my copy? I think they're both proving the same thing. But better to ask and be sure

Thanks in advance, guys. I appreciate the help :)

All tell you what we did, though I can't vouch if I'm correct, as our application is still pending:

1. I (sponsor), provided the main page of my passport with the bio-data. I didn't include additional pages.

2. We didn't certify all photocopies (as the checklist doesn't specifically say so). I think those are official documents, specifically if you need documents translated. But photocopies of my birth certificate, passport, paystubs, etc. we did not certify

Except for..

3. You have to formally request a certified copy of your marriage certificate from you provincial health administrator. The marriage cert you sign on your wedding day does NOT suffice. There is a fee and waiting period, so order your certified marriage cert as soon as possible.

Hope that helps. Others can weigh in if I'm wrong

If the country specific says all, photocopy and send all.
One marriages certificate is used. Everything is sent together in one package, so you don't need to duplicate anything.
We only certified the copies of the marriage cert and birth cert. the photocopy of passport and anything else we didn't certify.

1. The country specific guide (China as per your previous posts) does not require all pages of your passport. It states: proof of your sponsor's visits SUCH AS airline ticket coupons, used boarding passes, complete photocopy of all pages of your sponsor's passport. It is simply one example of relationship proof that can be included, not a requirement. If you have other solid proofs of relationship, there is no need for all your passport pages.

2. You don't need to certify everything. Anything not in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation. For any official documents that are in English or French, they will specifically state if a certified copy is required. A quick look at the China guide shows that you are not required to certify birth certs, marriage cert, divorce cert etc.

3. One copy is fine. Though both checklists request a lot of the same things, you don't need to double up on anything.
