(reposting due to no responses probably cause it was too early)
Hey guys! We're putting together out package over the next two weeks! Super excited to get this journey started, but I'm a little confused about some of the items on the checklist and wondering if you guys could help clarify some of them!
Bare with me, this will be a tad lengthy:
1) Employment/Source of Income:
I'm a Canadian living in the US, so I obviously have no job in Canada or one waiting right now. We don't have a savings set aside, but plan to over the next several months to aid in our move back to Canada. That being said, what should I submit as proof I'll be able to support my wife? Would a detailed plan suffice? (Savings plan, rough estimate when I'll be moving back etc, where I'll be living). It's a tad too early to apply for jobs, but would it hurt to apply anyways and show I applied? (Even if we're talking a 12 month waiting period?). Would it help if my mother wrote a letter stating that she will be providing living conditions for us once we move back rent free? And finally would showing I am employed presently in the US and have been employed for almost a year help as well? Or all of the above?
2) Documentary Evidence of Financial Support/Shared Expenses:
We do not have any shared accounts outside of Telephone and our Car Payments. This is a little confusing as a previous checklist item would like us to provide bills. Here, can I provide another bill? (Example, for the one I could submit our Telephone Bill, for this one I can submit the car loan?). We do have annual pass memberships to Disney and SeaWorld; could I submit those as I pay for Disney for us and she pays for SeaWorld and it shows both our names on the accounts?
We do have plans to open a joint account with a credit union this week to help lower our car payments. Could I submit that or would it be a red flag as it will be so new?
3) Where are the interviews held? I cannot find a clear answer on this one. I would like to have an idea if we need to save on the side as well for flights/hotels. We are located in Florida.
4) Can we submit past rental agreements or does it have to be recent? If it must be recent, we do live with our friend, and he's not an official rental company or anything. Would a rental agreement letter from him with the details of our rent and our names suffice (and does it need to be notarized?)
And finally
5) When it says that we can submit proof of our relationship via friends/family it says something about social media profiles that are public. Would that mean just submitting our Instagram handles for them to view? They are our only public social media accounts and show our lives together.
I really appreciate all the help! Sorry for the long list of questions! I'm sure they have been asked before, but would like to have all the answers in one place to look back on as we go through this process! Super excited to get back home and to be where we're the happiest! <3
