hello doda. Shouldn't the old passport scans go in the letter of explanation field. It seems that the field is designated only for the valid passport. It clearly states that as the instruction when you click on the help (?) symbol beside the field.

You might be right, but if you indicated previous travels in your application, how will you prove them without the stamps on your passport. I think you might include them with the letter of explanation. Anyhow it doesn't matter where you upload them as they are still in the same application package.

hey doda. i agree with you 100%. that is what i did with my application. i realized that when i was filling out the schedule 1- application for temporary visa form that there was no provision to give evidence of your travel history. therefore i scanned the pages of the old passport with stamps and visas and placed them into the letter of explanation field.

I think you're right, it should be more technically appropriate to be uploaded with the letter of explanation. My application was screwed up from the beginning, so I'm not worried about that, they should understand

Hi All,

I have recently received my offer letter via email and now preparing my documents to apply for the study visa online. I have a confusion regarding the question about cost of studies. The offer letter says that one should be ready to spend 37000 CAD approx. I am not sure whether to put the expenses for one year of for the whole period of study since the explanation is not clear . Also, funds available for my stay should be for one year or two since the program's official length is 2 years ??

I also want to know if I have to show bank statement in my name ?? Since my father will be funding my studies, can I show the bank statement in his name ??

You can show bank statement in your fathers name not a problem and write fees for one year everywhere. Hope this helps.

I had encountered this problem while applying too. However, I only uploaded new passports as my old pp file was really long. But then I was worried about not providing it. So, I emailed them and attached my old pp with the email. But I am guessing it is not totally required as it does not ask for it.

tuition fee: 12500
room and board: 9000
others: 37000-12500-9000 = 15500.

or its not necessary that the sum should be equal to the funds available ??

Well it seems as it's not required, but on the other hand they are requested that you scan all the pages with stamps... it's not clear on their part which adds to why this one of the worst online applications ever.

Its not necessary the sums should be equal to the funds available .It can be greater

Thanks a lot Dipta . I have one more question regarding the employment section in the form IMM1294E. Since I don't have prior work experience, what should I write there ?? I have written NA in most of the fields but I have to write a date in the date section and since I am filing the form online, I cannot validate it. It gives an error and says that I should write a date there.

Help needed .
