We have only just sent our application off and have the receipt number from paying the fees but no other reference, i was wondering at what point you can check online for a status update?

Thanks!

I would wait at least two weeks before expecting to see anything post online via your receipt number. The website does post the processing time for inland processing at about 35 days, and they update the site weekly, but you might be lucky and see that it has been completed within a few weeks.

Good Luck!

Nothing came up for us until they completed the sponshorship part of the application, which took about a month.

Also, keep in mind that with the receipt number, make sure you enter the sponsor's details into e-Cas and not the pr applicant's details.

Every case is different I noticed. Some show up after 2 weeks some one month.. just a point of reference.. Start checking in 2 weeks with the receipt number and the sponsor's details.
Good luck..

I was checking after 2 weeks and nothing came up under my receipt#. If you are sponsoring your husband it is good to check as well under his passport# as a reference. For my case it was processed under his passport#.

I've never seen Passport Number as an option on e-Cas. Just checked now and saw a bunch of options, but no passport number. Which item on the list did you use with the passport number?

For us, we could check using:
- Receipt number with sponsor's details
- The Client ID on the sponsorship approval letter with sponsor's details
- Immigration file number with PR applicant's details

I find it weird as well why they had to put client Id sponsorship as his passport# especially when the first part it has to do with the sponsor and not the applicant to be approved.
The information on the e-cas wasn't even related to the sponsor and this is the first time I have seen this and never read about it in this forum.

So you used your husbands passport number under which one? Client ID? You just tried that? Then you put his details or your own? First time I ever saw that. Interesting.

At first I couldn't find anything under mine, I called them and they said they already sent the letter such and such date and was approved. When I received the letter I checked the information and put exactly the same with his name and it came up. It's the first time I ever heard this as well I don't know why it was done that way.

ID Identification was his passport #
2nd part his date of birth and name as well. Wasn't even my name and I'm the sponsor. That's why I couldn't find it and when I called they asked what was his passport# with his name.
The approval letter confirmed the same.
I don't know the fact on my citizenship card there was mistake in the spelling of my name and and I wrote them a letter to let them know that I'm still waiting for the new one to be corrected so I guess they didn't want any confusion while the application on process.
