I am from India and i have deposited the fees to book the seat at FDU, Vancouver campus in US dollar.now, neither they are alloting me the seat for the coming session nor they are refunding my fees which is very high as per Indian currency.

What i can do ,,,is there any portal in canada to get hold on these fleecing universities in canada?

Plz help me if anyone has any idea about this matter

Have you been denied a study permit? Have they given you a seat in the next term? You’ll need to look at their refund policy

As per their guidelines, deposit is non refundable. You selected a private, for profit university catering to international students.

Ya they are providing me the seat in jan 2023 but i could not wait for this long because i have applied for loan and already disbursed with that loan which i can not return before 6 months and the interest of that loan is putting pressure on my pocket.

Unfortunately you need to look at the terms before putting down the deposit. If your study permit is approved they don’t have to give you your deposit back.

Blame your agent. Unfortunately your agent likely recommended this private university because they were benefitting financially versus a public school. KPU did nothing wrong so not sure what type of recourse you are looking for.

Ask your agent if he/she gets kickbacks from the university for having you apply to FDU? FDU is not doing anything wrong as the refund for deposits is clear. May not be right but it is legal.

If your agent suggested FDU rather than you applying to a public university, ask your agent if he/she gets money from FDU for you applying to the school. Agents have agreements with private schools to get money in exchange for every student who applies.

Not sure what you mean but if you mean your agent. They likely get a payment for every student they get to attend the school. It is important that people do their own research about what schools and programs would be best versus blindly trusting agents who are often only interested in making money. Stick with public schools not private.

No one ever knows about the university. UBC and Simon Fraser University are the most popular and good universities in Vancouver.

Contact your agent and ask them to sort it out! They'll probably have tie ups with the university..
