Dear members,
I was taken for a ride by consultant who is based in Canada and has offices in Chandigarh as well.
He took around $5000 from me to file my case in Skilled Worker Category and basically just sat on my file for 2 years. When i saw no progress I hired a new consultant and landed in Canada in 11 months. Is there any way I can get the refund from my previous agent as he has failed to provide any services?
Please advise me my options and of course it should not involve spending more money.

Senior's please give your feedback.

Different agencies have different set of rules, some consultancy agency have this tagline " NO VISA NO FEE",in that case the fee can be refunded, but there are also some agencies that are implementing the "NO REFUND" system.

Best thing for you to do i think is to report to CSIC that particular consultancy of yours & ask for their opinion on that matter.

Most agents donot refund the money paid to them unless its been rejected because of their mistake. Anyway its worth talking to them and ask for refund even if it is not full refund compramise for atleast a half. This is waht I would do if I go through this situation.

If you reveal the name of the consultant, it might be helpful for someone who is thinking of hiring this consultant to avoid him.

hello

Some will refund u and some don't. One in sector 22 didnt refund me even single penny
and his office is in Canada and I feel u understand who is that.

May be you threat him that u will sue him then may be he will refund u,but you gave $5000
for offer letter, if that is for offer letter then chances are very low.but try

good luck

Sorry to learn of your wasted money with this consultant.

May I ask, what was the actual $5000 for? Was it just an FSW1 application or was it FSW2 and he was supposed to get your a job offer?

If I were you I would look very carefully at any documentation you signed to see how it is worded. During this time what did he fail to do exactly? Did you actually apply for a visa or were you waiting for this guy to get you a job offer? I know before my wife's pharmacy skills came on the in-demand list in June 2010, we were going to go down the FSW2 route. Some agencies were going to charge us £7000 (approx CAD $10,000) to get use the job offer+visa. And if they totally failed to do this - the would STILL charge us £1500 (approx CAD $2,500)!!!

I would advise very strongly against anyone getting a consultant to get them a job offer (and paying them large sums for the privilege). There fraudsters out there who will charge large sums of money for fraudulent job offers, and you won't know it's fraudulent until CIC fail you for the job offer not being genuine and approved.

Best thing IMO is to just do it yourself. Do research, make phonecalls - it is hard work but when you finally get that HRDSC approved job offer it will all be worth it. Much cheaper and probably faster than wasting time through a consultant. If you feel you absolutely must go through a consultant then I would only even begin to entertain the idea if they offer a NO VISA / NO FEE policy.

Best of luck.
Wayne.

You must mention the names of such consultants so that at least future members can be careful and not fall in their trap. They must be publicly highlighted.
