another good one from Captain qorax!!

hi,
is this applicable to all provinces? i mean also in manitoba? :)
thanks

Yes, they have... however, for a newcomer it's better to go with WINDmobile instead... u'd be saving a lot [on monthly costs].

The E5 isn't an AWS device... so it'd not work with WIND. Though u may use it with the 'other' providers - they do not work-out cheap. The wisest option is to get an AWS bandwidth phone, there r many, or pick-up one from the WINDstore for as less as $45.

is there any cellphone company which doesn't charge roaming within in ontario?

Here it's not about the network provider [company], it's about the 'plans' [service selection]. Every network provider has 'plans' to suit every need, including a 'North America Plan' [all-Canada & the US]. Unfortunately that'd be the priciest.

WINDmobile doesn't have services in Manitoba, as yet. One could check their area coverage here:

*Type the city on top of the map.

thanks anyway :)

I have decided to have this by March as we are landing in Toronto.
Is it possible to have mobile connection also from same company?
Should I bring mobile phone from India.
You were suggesting N9 in other thread.

Another great post from you, Thanks Qorax.

Isn't there an option at all to get a stand-alone high speed internet only..? If the answer is YES, we can make use of the following service which gives FREE CALLING to most of Canada, that too with a free new Canadian phone number or port your existing number.
Have a look at this.... will love to see your opinion on this!!

Dear Qorax,

My country iran isnt in the list of countries for calling long distance, so this means I cannot opt for homophone, do u know one which I can choose to have both high speed net with low fees and calling long distance with low fees? Thank u for your assistance. I know my questions are a burden, Im just nervous about settling down.

Also, which neighborhood in toronto or around toronto is the most secure, safe and sound as I am afraid of unsecure regions for settlement?

1. Iran isn't offered by any package plans - u'd have to use prepaid cards for calling ur country. I'd avoid using the Intl. minutes of any cellphone or landline provider b'coz they'd rip-u--off.

2. Pls read my thread on Toronto neighborhoods.
