hello OHM!

Thanks!

Well, I submitted our passports on August 28, 2013. My case may be different from others. I should have had our passports back before November 19, as it was previously set to be our visa expiration date. Since the delays caused by LVO, my son (medical expired November 19, 2013) was requested for another medical with all our passports remained at LVO. When the results were forwarded to their office, our visas were immediately printed with new visa expiration date. To sum up, they kept our passports for long 15 months..and that was tough.

Your case may be better than mine. I hope everything will go smooth for you.

As I previously went through with the other threads, almost all of them got their passports back within 4-6 weeks after submission.

Good luck to you my friend!

ali Bhai, talking of my own experience,...the phase you are going to enter in now, is not that simple, specially if you are on a good job in gulf. Best of luck

I will second Hasni, i believe in same, it is not an easy to say bye to good salary (definition of good salary vary person to person) in my case it is CAD 5500 after tax but i spend almost all in a month with family with three kids in living in gulf.

Happy New Year to all.

I would appreciate some information during the first entry to Canada. I am the principal applicant, I plan to go first while my family will follow after few months. Please let me know on what requirements I need to have when I arrived at the Airport. Please let me know also what are the requirements that my family has to bring with them as they will travel without me.

By the way, what suggestions you can provide on carrying funds to Canada? Immigration will check this on arrival right? How about my family, do they need to show again bank statements?

Thanks a lot

Following my previous post above. I have gathered already the requirements. The only query I have is since I plan to land first and my family will follow after few months, for the funds, do they need to show it also again in immigration? Meaning I will not be able to use it already while Im in Canada?

Thanks a lot in advance for all your inputs

No, only you have to show that you have brought in the funds to Canada, your family will not be asked to show any proof of fund. You can start using your money as soon as you pass through customs.

Just make sure your family travels before the expiry date of their visa and COPR.
