need some help

I am going to apply for my spouse from Pakistan next week, just gathering documents need some help

do I need to attested copies from foreign office or just from notry is ok.

secondly what proof should I give as marriage as it is arranged marriage.
do I need a lawyer or I should do it by myself.
help really appreciated.

I'm going based on my own experience.

Notary should be fine I also had an arranged marriage.
Personally is better just takes some time to fill out all the papers and gather all the documents requested.

Lawyers not the best option one of my friends took this route and she found it to be not only expensive but the her lawyer wasn't much assistance and it took her simple case much longer than anticipated.

Suggestion submit as much proof as possible such as the following

anniversary/birthday cards
Skype/viber/whatsapp conversations
emails
call logs
pictures
visits to spouse and passport with entry exit visas
NICOP card with your spouses name on it

If you need any further assistance you can also message me. Sometimes posts get looked over with so many members providing updates and responses and asking questions etc

app filed 23 july 12
AOR 11 oct 12
Remed jan 14
PCC and updated form feb 14
File moved to chc lnd feb 14
PPR 1 &2 29 SEP 14
Passport sent to chc isb 27 oct 14
Passport return with visa 19 nov 14

congratulations..how long did cic ask you to wait for visa to be stamped? its mentioned in step2 that they keep the passport for 15days or 30 days

I send my passport on 30 oct and recieved 31 oct to cic

Alhamdulillah,

Finally I received my passport back with visa today. The whole process completed in 25 months and CHC-I returned my passport in 3 weeks time.

unfortunately their is no order for these officers they don't care much for older cases... pretty sad that they cannot empathize with us and how we are living without spouses and the ones that have children what their kids are going through

No, that's not the case. Perhaps it's pure luck. I have a 4 years old.... Everything seems to be good in notes, file has been assigned to a Vo.... But i haven't heard anything. I pray this torture ends sooon bcz our kids are at the receiving end

Shukar hai Allah ka my husband went to pick his passport he got his visa finally tough time we had guzar he gaya after 27 month of wait i got so emotional wen he calles its like dream coming true Inshallah he will b here next month i thanks to everyone here who supported me i wish and pray for them sab pe Allah fazal kare and they get there visa soon to b with there spouse and , family
