Yes I was the lucky one, two of my other firends also got it but one friend got denied so it's very random, but for sure they favour spouses with good education backgrounds and sponsors with professional jobs.

Even with visa your spouse will have to exit every six months after a while it becomes very difficult with no medical coverage and it is expensive to exit. I am not discouraging you but it is a short term solution and 3 years waiting for PR is too long on visitor status.

Ur case is closer to mine. I applied for notes on3 march and got them on 30 march and it said my file is in london

After 2 weeks finally got a response from London:

"Dear Sir/ Madam,

This is in response to your enquiry.

Based on the information you provided, your application is not in process at our office in London, UK.

Please contact the visa office where your application was sent with any proof of receipt you may have received regarding this application. We regret that we cannot assist applicants with an application in process at a different visa office. Please contact the Islamabad visa office via islamabad-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca."

Im so confused now! Last week London confirmed that my file is in their hands and today i received this mail

I received exactly same email from them last month. But last week I sent another enquiry to CHC London but they didn't reply me so far.

Marium I didn't mean to scare you or anything ... its just ... all files are haphazardly being shot off in different directions. No need to get worried. As soon as we start hearing from folks in the next few weeks we'll get a slight idea of what's going on ... I have a gut feeling London won't be like Ottawa ... when our files went to Ottawa the website didn't say anything about them processing permanent residence applications from Pakistan ... but London does and they are official; therefore, the 11 month (no grandfather clause though) period applies when files are sent to London.

I'm sure you file along with others will also move to London since Islamabad no longer is handling them. There are tons of files so they may be sending those in batches.

Yeah ... I guess they are planning internally how to allocate the new flow of files from Islamabad and that may take a while but when the officers are assigned and workload is ready for execution we'll start hearing back from them soon ... and much faster than Islamabad.

I'm Nov 2011 application...

I got a call from my mp's office a few minutes ago... She says the file is in queue and I shouldn't expect much action till June. (since this info is from my MP i'm not 100% certain if she can be trusted) But I just thought I would share... Have a good weekend everyone!!

Alhamdolillah my wife received ppr today from London office. We feel very lucky because ours was Nikka case and in interview que and still everything went without any major hiccups. I pray everyone gets to be with their loved ones very soon.
