Hi i have same timeline as yours, app filed feb 2012 and aor received may 2012, my file is in ottawa too and no remedical nothing yet... status is app received

Hey guys!! Has anyone of you opened bank accounts for spouse prior to their immigration. My friend did that and now her husband is here, she has been receiving bank statements for her husband. Now she will take the bank statement to the Alberta registry office to get her husband's health card and Alberta ID card right away. The Alberta registry office only accepts original mail from bank or a billing company as proof of residence in Alberta. Just thought to share this with everyone on the forum.

I think your best bet is to ask someone in the 2011-2012 or 2009-2010 thread.

Honestly, I think the same. Either people just got disappointed because of the 26 (now 28 month time) and don't want to mary back home anymore, or they are just not on this forum.

Well if m not wrong so UCI is the number that belongs to the one who is sponsoring not to the one who is being spinsored and that number you don't get it through AOR ,
Though it is written in that piece of paper which we call AOR but that number is your account number which stayes with you through out your life ....
The purpose of AOR is ,as it is abbreviated "Acknowlegment of Receipt" is giving you a heads up that they have revived your file and your are eligible to sponsor and it gives you the new number which we call file number or application number that belongs to the person who is being sponsored... May b m wrong but UCI number I had it when I came into Canada about 10 years ago....
Well I guess it's useless discussion that what exactly it is.. The important thing is we are all getting sick coz of this never ending wait.. That's why spending too much time on these forum and have nothing else in life..

Exactly it is acknowledgment of receipt mean they confirm that they received your file, not that they approve it. I received AOR after 7 days and it said that they have recieved the file on that xxx date and they gave me UCI and File number. And I seriously doubt that this is approval of stage 1. AOR is something else and Approval for stage 1 is an other thing.

When they don't send AOR then you get the AOR with the stage 1 approval but that is not in a week or 2 it is after a couple of months. And approval usually say where the file is being transferred and the email and contact info of VO.

Anyone who has gone through this please confirm as if my AOR is my Stage 1 approval then this is amazing I got approved in 7 says wow, But I doubt it. Also I really need to know in order to send my form for Quebec selection certificate.

I completely agree with this. If your AOR only mentions that they have received your application, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have been approved. It should clearly state that your application has been evaluated and you have been approved and that your application has been sent to the Islamabad VO. I didn't hear from them until 3 months after I had submitted my application, but got the sponsor approval just a few days ago.

Which gave me information that I am e elegible to sponsor n now file is in islamabad with my wife application number... Anyways again would say this discussion is totally useless ..
